Money in the Bank 2020 - Scaling Titan Tower (7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. ET pre-show)

I'm probably at a point where this empty-arena wrestling is too uninteresting to me to even tune in for most PPVs, but the gimmick of tonight's Money in the Bank - that the wrestlers will apparently be making their way to the top of Titan Tower to try to claim the briefcase - is interesting enough that I do have enough curiosity to tune in.

Here's the card, which unfortunately appears to confirm that seeing MVP earlier in the year wasn't just a fever dream:

I really like the idea of both matches occurring at the same time. If they would just stretch out this concept to all matches, we'd be able to cut down every WWE show to around a half hour.

Not only does the crowd's absence take away the atmosphere I need as a fan, but these days - unlike a rare empty-arena match in non-pandemic times - it just gives the event a dystopian feel that runs strongly counter to the goal of this type of entertainment being a real escape.

I watched it while I was doing some actual work for my job. Wow. What an odd show.

And as said above, what was the deal with the camera angle in the two guys that got thrown off? Was it supposed to be implied they got thrown off the platform, or the roof completely?

It sounds dumb, but I honestly wasn't sure what they were going for.

I hated it.

Turning one of their most anticipated/prestigious matches of the year into a total comedy segment doesn't work for me.

Almost all of the cameo/bits were cringeworthy, specifically the Dana Brooke/briefcase/Stephanie one.

I enjoyed Drew/Seth alot, but found everything else bad or uninteresting.

I don't mind MITB being silly in this context, but I wish the comedy had been more character-driven instead of just goofy spots. In my head, I had pictured more buddy cop style dynamics with the wrestlers and the matches intertwining more. There were fun possibilities with like Asuka and Aleister Black teaming up, Nia and Otis, etc.

They showed the ring setup a few times. There was a lower platform they were thrown onto. You could hear them land on the other side when Corbin threw them.
