One of the greatest heels ever. One of the greatest faces ever. One of the greatest talkers ever. One of the greatest draws ever.
Every time he has returned since becoming one of the biggest movie stars in the world (the 2nd highest paid actor of 2014 according to Forbes) so much mainstream attention is brought to the product. WWE has not used all those eyeballs to make new stars properly, of course, despite Rock really giving it his all in all of those matches.

Those matches were all good and he had not wrestled in 7 years. I guess maybe he was slacking and just is so incredibly amazing that he was still good anyway, but either way he still is the only person ever to be one of the top few celebrities in the entire world while working competent wrestling matches. It is a pretty big embarrassment that WWE has never been able to make a megastar out of all the Rock's appearances given what lesser celebrities have been able to help create while doing less.
The Rock is a good pick obviously and the fact that he makes a comeback adds value regardless, but don't pretend that he wasn't gassed out 5 minutes into the main event of Wrestlemania.
I'm pretty much 50/50 between 2 guys. Will try and make a decision soon.
I suggest adding Kruze and DWE at the end of the draft (picks 9 and 10) if they prefer that to being a partner.
I know I have no say as a railbird, but yeah, it would be good to see some more new blood drafting their own roster for the sake of variety and unpredictability. AJD is one, but Kruze would be another.
Fwiw I'd be against it for a couple of reasons (nothing personal, from what I remember from werewolf kruuuuuuuuze is pretty awesome), but we'll wait for the official word from Judy.
I have no problems if we add 1 or 2 more people, but can I ask that I move to #10 instead of staying at 8. I would much rather have the back to back picks and lead off the 3rd round
Yeah we always give the option to the person at the end to keep the double picks.
Fwiw my reservations are
a) It messes the order up. Someone might take into account how many picks are left before their next pick when picking. I guess this doesn't really affect the first 4 picks though and I'm willing to wait before making my pick.
b) Someone who wanted to be in might have seen the signup had closed and not bothered. How are we sure that kruze is the 9th person who wanted in the draft?
c) gotta mess with the spreadsheet!
I'm not really bothered though and I do agree it would be nice to have some "fresh" drafters.

To be fair, this forum only has like nine posters.
Having said all that I did let wesrwood in during the first round of the last draft so I guess I'm being a hypocrite. I did regret that decision though fwiw.
For younger fans or people who just haven't gone back to watch some older stuff, flair was in many ways the rock of the 80s when it came to charisma and presence. Flair on the mic during his peak runs in NWA in the early to mid 80s was truly exceptional. I also like flair quite a bit more in the ring.
With that said, rocks ability to draw and be his best on the biggest stage is something flair never truly got the chance to do and we can only speculate as to how big he would've been if his career played out primarily in wwf/wwe. Flair did perform in front of some enormous crowds in Asia but that's not the same to me obviously.
Also thought about rock because I think he's easier build around due to him being a great baby face and just larger physically.
Was close for me but flair has gone first overall and at worst in top 3 in all of these so maybe I'm an idiot.
Moorobot if you wanna swap flair and rock and some draft picks Id consider
Didn't Judy say he isn't running it but we all are?
Was rather surprised that picks were already made on Easter when I opened the thread actually; I figured I was opening it to discuss rules and wait for people to sign up.
I probably will keep the Rock. I don't recall ever having Rock, Hogan or Austin in one of these.
Though for the record Judy only succumbed to the 80s onwards rule because of the low number of participants. He has Hogan now though so probably doesn't care.

Ok if you change your mind lmk. I just figured you were a huge flair mark due to your avatar and all lol
