a) to avoid having people pick those guys from a completely different era and saying they would be their top guy. There has been a lot of debate over whether they would be able to translate or not.
b) to make it different from all the other drafts
I think the advantage of getting an early pick is equalled out by the later pickers picking first in the second and third rounds (maybe to the point where they have the advatage in a draft with under 10 people).
I think we should do from 80-current. Maybe, I'm alone here but all I do when I get a pre-80's wrestler is speculate what they could do whereas, from 80 on, there's enough media and stats to judge what to do with what guy.
I'm trying to be vague as not to mess up the draft but there's atleast one pre 80s guy that should be included I just don't think it's fair if not everyone has a shot at a top draw (face of a federation)
For the guys who want to cap it how many do you think there are with the cap?
Im ok with having the cutoff at anywhere between 1970-1980. I think any earlier and you might as well just open it up to all. Any later and you are really narrowing the field
I'm not sure what we're looking at when it comes to this cutoff.
Wrestler X is active from 1975 through 1985. Are we only getting his work from 1980 through 1985, or is his whole career eligible by virtue of the fact that he was wrestling into the 80s?
I was suggesting the former. There's probably not much point in having a cutoff otherwise as loads of old wrestlers carry on going way past their prime.
