I salute you, I couldn't have made through the last seven shows. I was thinking about it leading into last year's Mania, but there was no way in hell I was watching that piece of **** again. Seven ****ing hours!!!

If it helps, I felt no obligation to watch any preshows,so that saved me a couple hours right there

One quick stat for you guys. I think it was in my XXX write up where I guessed that HHH would have been in the longest match in any given Mania 8 times. Well after checking the stats, he had the most time in 7 of his 20 matches. He tied for the longest once, that was in WM 29. He also had the second longest match 5 times. Something I found interesting.

I was compiling a list to see who was in the top ten of WM appearances. Apparently my notes weren't thorough enough, and Wikipedia is too unreliable to get an exact number, so I'm not going to post those numbers

Another one: Wrestlers with multiple Main Events

These are all of the wrestlers who have been in multiple Wrestlemania main events. ANd by main events, I mean strictly the last match of the show. None of this three and four main events in one show bull**** they try to shovel at us. Also, I refuse to recognize the Hogan/Yoko match as a main event.

Hulk Hogan- 8
HHH- 6
Shawn Michaels, The Rock, and John Cena- 5
Bret Hart, Undertaker, and Steve Austin-3
Randy Orton, Sid, Randy Savage, Roman Reigns, Batista, Yokozuna, and Brock Lesnar- 2

I actually have a list of wrestlers' WM win/loss records sorted by number of matches. Here is the top 10:

The Undertaker - 24 (23-1)
Triple H - 20 (9-11)
Kane - 17 (8-9)
Shawn Michaels - 17 (6-11)
Big Show - 15 (4-11)
Bret Hart - 14 (8-6)
Chris Jericho - 12 (5-7)
Hulk Hogan - 12 (8-3-1)
John Cena - 12 (9-3)
Randy Orton - 12 (5-7)

I can post the whole list if you'd like but it's very long.

Really enjoyed reading your reviews BTW.

I had the same list, but I was also going to count non wrestling in ring appearances and when wrestlers/managers did commentary. So guys like Piper and The Rock would have a lot more appearances than just their matches. Once I started, I realized that I would have to go and watch all of them again to get a truly accurate number and I had zero interest in doing that.

Thank you I really appreciate the kind words at the end

Pretty good list, top 5 seems really solid. I feel like DBry winning the title at XXX has to be on there somewhere. And I'd put Savage winning the tournament at IV on there as well, but that's just me.

I agree with that top 4 but would have them in a different order. I'd actually go 1. End of streak then Hogan/Andre at 2, Bret/Austin at 3 and Hogan/Rock at 4. Not sure what I'd do after that but that's a decent enough list.

Edit - I'll go with Savage/Liz to round out my top 5.

If I went for a top 15, Bryan at XXX would probably be #11. When I was thinking about it, even though the storylines leading up to the respective shows were different, both wrestlers overcoming the odds and winning title at the were very similar. So my thought process was to pick one, and the fact that Benoit had the better match and did it first had me give him the nod over Bryan.

I read this and gave it a little thought, and I think you are right with regards to my top 4. I think Rock/Hogan should be #4, since the other three led to big changes in some way for the company. I still feel Hogan/Andre is #1 though, but it's a personal decision

I have no particular love at all for your 8 and 9 and probably wouldn't rate them if you gave me 50 moments, but the list is still a good one.

With all of the crazy stuff that's happened at WM, I still just can't call anything better than The Streak ending. I saw WM 3 live and didn't have the same reaction...I was 6 at the time

I would end up going Andre/Hogan for #1 just for objective reasons, but I definitely feel the exact same way as you about personal experience with the end of the streak, since WM III was before me.

Despite the fact that I certainly didn't know the word "job" as a verb at the time, Hogan just straight-up jobbing cleanly to Warrior stunned me even when I knew the result going into my first viewing of it. I knew Warrior had won, but it was still jarring to me that he just hit the splash and got a three-count. I know there were visual pins, but it still felt like a totally clean win to me when I watched as a kid.

Well it was a three count with a kick out afterwards, plus an over the top dramatic Hogan stealing the spotlight. **** you,Hulk Hogan. Ok I got one last one in,I feel much better

Both of those things by Hogan were totally fine IMO.

With regard to Cena/Rock, if they had actually had an unexpected confrontation then that could have maybe been an all-time WM moment, but since they had set up that match for 14 months the impact was pretty dull once it finally occurred.

Some time in the recent past, Austin, on his podcast did another one of those deals where he watches a match of his in real time and commentates on it. This time it was his submission match at 13 vs Bret Hart. I haven't listened to it yet, so I can't comment on it, but since Podcast One has stopped making the archive casts available for free, I will leave the Daily Motion link here if you are interested.

I'd switch 3 and 5.
Eliminate 8 and 9. Replaced by HHH vs Bryan and Warrior vs Savage.
8 and 9 wouldn't make my HMs either. Nor would Kurt/Eddie.

I hear you on switching 3 and 5, but I think that ridiculous heel turn at the end of Rock/Austin knocks it down a little. As for 8 and 9, it's a totally subjective list and I fully expect some to have differing opinions.

I wouldn't be able to find room for Bret-HBK in my list, but the rest seems reasonable. I would probably take out TLC II just out of a snobby reaction against spotfests, but I love that match so whatever.

I've only seen HBK-HHH-Benoit once and I didn't really see the big deal, but I basically don't remember it at all at this point and I owe it another watch.

Agreed on the top 8. I'd replace 9 and 10 with HBK/Razor and the first Money in the Bank.

Honourable mentions:

Savage/Warrior (VII)
Flair/Savage (VIII)
Michaels/Jericho (XIX)
Guerrero/Angle (XX)
Edge/Foley (22)
Cena/Michaels (23)
HHH/Bryan (XXX)

I'm there with you. Actually, I really don't have much of a recollection of this match so I looked back at my write up, and I wrote that I enjoyed it, so I guess I did. Hardcore weapon matches aren't my thing either for the most part.
