Re: Wrestlemania Draft Thread

All right then, back to me? Ok, its pretty bad for me that I did not have a Jericho match in the first four rounds, since he's probably one of my favorite wrestlers of all-time, so I'm going to use it here.

I'm going to pick Chris Jericho vs Ricky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, and Superfly Snuka at WM 25. For this match, I often ignore the Piper and Snuka stuff, since Snuka looks out of shape and Piper is well Piper.

I choose this, just for the fact that Ricky did not wrestle in a match in like 15 years, and did as much as he could do with his limits and probably out-performed a good amount of the younger performers. Heck, it was probably that match that got me intrigued into Ricky Steamboat which lead to me into looking at his 80s masterpieces with amazement.

Card:
Benoit vs HBK vs HHH (WM 20)
Angle vs Guerrero (WM 20)
Undertaker vs Orton (WM 21)
Kane vs Big Show vs Raven (WM 17)
Chris Jericho vs Ricky Steamboat............Piper, Snuka (WM 25)

I understand that, I would have chosen it as well. I just want to point out that they are old, and very very roided up, especially Vince.

Steamboat being that good at that age after that layoff was epic. I didn't have it this high on my draft board, but that was a cool WrestleMania moment.

Eh, I had all of those rated at four stars or better (I throw ancillary aspects such as storyline and atmosphere into it). Yeah, some of them aren't workrate classics, but there's a hell of a lot of great moments stuck in that card.

I've never seen the Y2J vs the Legends match. It was during the time when I stopped watching WWE. I'll have to watch it.

Nice Pick, Teejay. Great match and we get to see a rare Rock vs Flair confrontation that includes the Naitch elbow.

Re: Wrestlemania Draft Thread

You can fast forward through the parts not involving Ricky Steamboat. The other parts are death.

Just started watching the Y2J/Legends match and am already upset to see that Piper got the biggest pop. I'll never understand what people see in him.

Re: Wrestlemania Draft Thread

The best part of the legends match was the follow up match (or two?) of Y2J vs Ricky where he got a huge "you still got it" chant and he really did.

Wow just finished the match. I know Jericho makes everyone he wrestles look like a million bucks but man that was impressive that Steamboat could still go like that. Great pick anguyen92.

Re: Wrestlemania Draft Thread

Id never seen this match before, but having watched it i got exactly what i expected, so here we go.

Spoiler:

Like every WM card should have a piece of The Streak, i dont think i can draft a card without being disappointed if i dont have one of Shawn's matches on it. Unfortunately i am left with little choice, but what i did have open to me is Vince in full on heel mode against one of the greatest of all time and the end result was Passion of the McMahon. Its not a great match, its arguably not even a 'good' match, but its the kind of match WM has become known for and if you need a Vince McMahon match on WM then you may as well have one with a spot involving a 20 foot ladder, a table and a trash can imo.

WrePhillMania card:

Angle vs Brock for the WWE title WM19
Rock vs Stone Cold WM19
Undertaker vs Kane WM14
MITB WM24

and now including:
HBK vs Vince McMahon WM22
