What is wrong with wrestling?

So are racist or sexist villains just basically not allowed in TV or movies anymore? To me having a racist villain doesn't mean you have a racist show. Just the opposite; you are defining racism as a bad thing, and trying to get people behind somebody opposed to racism. A face calling a heel a racial insult, now that would be a different story.

Theoretically it's perfectly fine, but wrestling crowds aren't an ideal audience to play to with that sort of message, and it's especially difficult to see WWE pulling it off without stepping in it somehow.

That, plus unfortunately the line is somewhat blurred between the character and the person thanks to how they do things, the nature of live TV, and so forth.

I am not advocating some kind of counter racism angle. I do, however, find that the obsession with never saying anything offensive or letting wrestlers do their own thing gives the product a very hospital like atmosphere, as opposed to an enjoyable 'anything can happen' feel.
