I don't expect Great Khali matches to get any worse than they were before either, but that doesn't make me excited when his music hits.

Result was fine. Not like Cena loses anything by losing and lol at anybody who thought Rock would lose in Miami.

Yeah but would you like to see Punk and Heyman destroy Khali on the mic and call him out on how terrible he is?

Watched The Super Smash Brothers vs. The Young Bucks from PWG's Death to all but Metal a few days ago after a month or so of having it d/l'ed. No DQ match from some time in the summer of this year. I can say this match blew me away. I expected not so much from it and I'm calling it the MOTY for 2012. I never expected anything to top Tanahashi vs Okada from 6/16 but this easily eclipsed it. Here is a link:

watch it with ad block on firefox or rip it from dailymotion but watch this match.

his feud with Rollins over the FCW ironman title was great and the feud with Regal towards the end of FCW was A++.

Ambrose has some good indie stuff in Dragon Gate as Moxley (and yes even some good CZW matches.)

I've seen the matches with Rollins...was torture to get through. didn't like his mannerisms at all but i'm going to give them another watch.

Nominating this for Match of The Year if we do awards:

Yeah Ambrose's mannerisms don't come off that well in front of 4 people at the FCW arena. Dude can go though.

Did you see the Bucks/SSB match I posted around 10 posts ago? I think that > ladder 3 way which I never thought would happen.

just finished watching it

i liked the chaos of the 3-way better even if it was more of a spotfest/stunt show. both were great though. pwg crowds so good. tornado tag matches so good.

iso do you have the Moxley/Danielson match in Dragons Gate from 2010? I remember really liking the match and I wanted to watch it again but it doesn't appear to be on YouTube.

main event for that show looks sick. BxB Hulk, Masato Yoshino & Naruki Doi vs. Shingo, YAMATO & Akira Tozawa

Man it is close for me. I think this is still the feud of the year and the 2nd match is the match of the year:

Kazuchika Okada vs Hiroshi Tanahashi (c) [12.02.2012]

Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kazuchika Okada (c) [16.06.2012]

It's the 25th anniversary of wrestling's return to primetime network television.

It was one of the most shocking title changes and greatest angles ever.

I remember trying to stay up late for SNL when I was a little kid and watching this when it came on in its place. I knew wrestling existed but didn't understand why anyone cared. Needless to say mind was blown and I was a fan for life. Those damn Hebners.

Tanahashi vs. Okada From Invasion Attack

I've been trying to broaden my writing horizons because lately I'm very unsatisfied with the WWE product and really can't get into TNA at all. I know next to nothing about NJPW but saw a review of this card on a dirt sheet site I frequent and saw this match had high marks. It's amazing to me the difference between this and WWE. Without knowing any of the lead up to this match, and not understanding a word of Japanese I was able to follow the story in this match without any problems at all.

Having a sometimes short attention span it's hard for me to get into a match that's 45-55 minutes long, especially in one setting, but after the apron DDT Okada delivered to Tanahashi fairly early in the match I was hooked. Certainly going to try to find other matches, and maybe make an effort to follow what's going on in NJPW.

Nice to see some love for NJPW . That match was special though. I'd call that the very best match of the 2000's just eclipsing Okada vs Naito on 3/4/12 and Kobashi vs Joe from ROH.

That 3/4/12 match was only Okada's first title defense after shocking the world on 2/12 beating Tanahashi for the belt in only his first real match in NJPW since 2009 when he was a bottom carder.

Nakamura vs Sakuraba on 1/4/13 is a good way to get into the #3 guy in the promotion. This guy just oozes charisma like Okada does. It's also a pretty short match at < 15 and lots of people praise it for their MotY.

wanted to post El Generico vs. Cesaro in NXT from this week but it was taken off of youtube already

NJPW ftw. You can follow that entire feud without english commentary. So good.

Was thinking more about Okada and I figured out he's pretty much the Japanese Alberto Del Rio. He wins his first match in about 2 minutes. He wins the title in his 2nd match. Drops the belt 4 months later. Wins the G-1 Climax tournament (9 day tournament where the winner (and loser) will have wrestled 10 matches). Rematch for the belt 5 months later at NJPW's Wrestlemania show but comes up short. Wins another tournament (New Japan Cup) two months later. Wins the belt back a few weeks later. All that in only 14 months. The only difference between him and Del Rio is there is no question that Okada is the most over wrestler in the promotion.

Matches I've watched today:
Misawa/Akiyama vs Kawada/Taue: One of the GOAT matches.
Kobashi vs Akiyama - 12/23/00 - This match is smokin'. The ending sequence is spectacular. Kobashi goes for one of his higher up signature moves, Akiyama counters, but Kobashi counters that, which in turn sets Akiyama up for Kobashi's finisher. It is dramatic to say the least.
Kobashi vs Misawa - 6/11/99: This match is a war. Some nice spots and a spectacular finish. 5* from Meltzer and hard to argue but I'd say 1/20/97 is their best match which coincidentally didn't get 5* from Mr. Meltzer.

thanks for the links, need to watch the 1st and 3rd and will rewatch the 2nd just for the hell of it.

Okada is great and i like him but i feel like Tanahashi or even Sakuraba or Nakamura are just as over as he is.
