That Generico/Steen match is literally their worst out of like 10 matches. Check out their PWG ladder match for a 5* match.

Going old school today and going to fire up Flair vs. Race from Starrcade '83 in the next hour or so. I remember being underwhelmed by it once upon a time, but I figure I owe it a second chance.

Yeah did this, still felt the same way. Match is definitely nothing great.

Blanchard vs. Steamboat from Starrcade '84 is a good one. Probably give it 3.25 stars out of 5. Solid action, even better psychology.

Just finished Bryan vs. Punk from Over The Limit 2012. What a match. Everytime I watch it, it gets better. I've watched it three times. Once live, thought it was great but not a classic. Second time a few months ago, threw ****3/4 at it. This time I was blown away by the match and just want to give it the full 5. Putting this over Shield vs. Hell No/Ryback @ TLC for MotY in 2012.

Just trying to get in the mood for WrestleMania week and I watched maybe one of the most underrated matches out there: Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 21. Great chain wrestling throughout the match along with some highlight reel moments as well. I wish we could see more matches like this these days.

Love that match. I always bring it up when talking about all time great matches as an underrated one, but seem to not get many people to agree. Glad to have you on board

That was a great match. I'm currently watching Edge/Taker WM 24. Sigh.

It's a classic for sure. Probably only outdone by HBK/Taker and Bret/Austin (and possibly Bret/Owen, but I don't think so) as far as non-championship matches at WM. Shawn's run at Mania after the comeback was just absurd.

Last night I put a bunch of Bryan on my tablet to watch before sleeping. Bryan vs. HHH @ Mania 30 is so f'n good. A solid ****1/4 affair.

Also watched Bray vs. Bryan. Wasn't as good as the first two times I watched it. ****.

Something I've taken away from both of these matches is that the camerawork is god awful. Both the finishing move of Mania 30 and the SA on the barricade in Bray/Bryan were both completely ****ed up because of the camerawork. GOTTA USE THAT ZOOM IN FEATURE WHEN A MOVE IS GETTING HIT NO MATTER HOW BAD IT MAKES IT LOOK BECAUSE IT'S SO COOL!!!!!!

Probably because 90% of people give it 5*. It's certainly not underrated. Here's a review from two days ago on a wrestlingforum:

Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 21 gets worse every time I watch it. What in the actual **** were they trying to do in that match?
I definitely agree with him.

Thinking of starting a Bryan appreciation thread

< 20 people voting for a match is hardly it being underrated. It may be underrated on this board, but certainly not in general.

A bunch of people give their lists of 5* matches in this 1500 post thread.

Picked up a 3-disc Eddie Guerrero DVD set. Wasn't going to pick it up since almost all of it is on The Network. Decided to get it because 1) the Smackdown stuff isn't on the Network yet; 2) the search on The Network sucks, so actually finding these matches is annoying; and 3) it was at a discount book store, so it was only $8.

Currently watching Ohtani/Eddie. Not sure whatever happened to Ohtani. He had a great match with Benoit in Japan, and this match with Eddie is really good so far. (Loved Ohtani's springboard moves. So few people did that move back then). You'd think that Ohtani would turn into an all-time great. But not really.

You could argue that. He's legendary in Japan. Wiki. Currently president of Zero-1 wrestling which was found by the GOD himself, Shinya Hashimoto.

You should definitely check out his other matches from the early 90's vs. Liger, Sasaki, Ultimo Dragon, and others.

AJ Styles vs Hiroshi Tanahashi. G1 Climax 25.

You know, I never quite got it when people chastised wrestlers for not selling consistently when a body part was worked on for a good portion of the match and wrestlers just shakes it off as if nothing of importance happened to them until I saw this match. Both men worked each other's leg pretty well in the early portions of the match and both guys were relatively limping throughout that long near 28 min. match. Now this is the match I am reminded of as a great example of great selling.

Ted Dibiase as WWF Champion on February 6, 1988

On 2/5/88, Hulk Hogan's first WWF title reign was ended by Andre the Giant. Andre promptly surrendered the title to Ted Dibiase.

On the next day, the WWF held an afternoon card in the Boston Garden and an evening event at the Philadelphia Spectrum. Both cards were main evented by a tag team match between WWF Champion Ted Dibiase and his partner Andre the Giant against Hulk Hogan and his partner Bam Bam Bigelow.

Pre-match interview with Ted Dibiase (in Boston)
