3rd game is the only worth while preseason game. Starters actually play in to the 3rd a lot of the time.

The rest blow the big one.

Third is the most fun just for all of the minutes the starters get, but I still don't regard it as all that meaningful.

Denny Green, however, does not appreciate my attitude.

niners undeniably ran hotter than hell last season and aren't going to win 13 games with not-manning still at qb (he'll turnover more than he did last year and the niners will get less takeaways than they did last year). plus their schedule is hard as ****

My friend did tell me that he bet a Niner co-worker an even money bet on total wins for the two teams. He asked me what I thought and I told him that doing that while I could see Seattle overtaking SF this year, I figured they were about a 2:1 dog to do so and that betting that at even money was silly.

nah. i mean, in theory (and betting value) even money is silly, in reality even money is probably about right. even if there is a talent disparity between the 2 teams, the seahawks defense is getting stronger, and if irvin delivers on his skills his upside is basically what aldon smith did last year. seahawks are seemingly trying to replicate what the niners did last year on d, and they have the personnel to pull it off.

plus the schedules (though both still pretty ****ing hard) favor seattle

made this prediction (assuming health) a while back, i think it's still about right. good chance sf @ seattle decides the division

I'm always pretty meh about putting much into the schedule before the year starts, given the percentage of the league that performs contrary to expectation (for better or worse).

When I look at Seattle's schedule I mostly just assess things like...

Good
*No more than two consecutive road games.
*At Miami is in late November. Playing early on in Florida is horrendous.

Bad
*At Chicago and at Buffalo are both in December. And in general, looking at the locations of the road games, the order that they occur in is basically the exact opposite of what you would want aside from the Miami game.

In terms of toughness of the teams, I think you can make a decent guess at the first month and then throw the rest out. Our first four being @Ari, Dal, GB, @StL makes me think it will be a 2-2 start. After that, who knows.

I dont even watch a preseason game. Confirmed worthless, but at least it lets you know the real season is close.

Has anyone ever had NFL Sunday Ticket or any equivalent? Was considering it this year, but since all Bears games are on here anyways, and they generally show 3-5 other games a week, wasnt sure if its worth it
