so we're going over **** we need to do for our next update and i make clear the most important thing is to fix the refresh issue and set it up so that when you relaunch the app to the main menu it refreshes upon opening. after a couple of weeks a couple of builds are made and we're going over what still needs to be fixed and i see taht 9 times out of 10 upon opening the app the refresh is delayed for about 30 seconds before it finally does it. so i say after the first build this still needs to be fixed. i say after the 2nd build this is still a problem.
coder finally comes back to me with "you keep saying this is a problem but i don't understand what the problem is." i explain that the refresh takes a long amount of time. he says that he knows and that he set it up so that it wouldn't refresh til 25 seconds.
so i'm dumbfounded and wondering why the **** he would do that by design since that completely defeats the purpose (average time a person spends on the main menu is 6 seconds. nobody is going to wait 25 seconds by accident before it refreshes and even if u clearly said to users they have to wait 25 seconds, nobody would do that). he responds with "well if i set it up so it's done immediately it would keep refreshing endlessly." that, of course, makes even less sense. i ask him to explain and he says that he set it up so that it refreshes every 25 seconds so to set that to 0 seconds would mean the main menu is refreshing nonstop. at this point i'm just speechless. 6 seconds average time and he sets it to refresh every 25 seconds. if this guy weren't such a coding savant i'd fire him right then and there but all i can do is close my eyes and pinch the bridge of my nose to not scream at him that he's a ****ing moron
