Re: WBM Greatest Talker of All Time - First Round Voting + Discussion
We appear to have zero close finishes forthcoming for the first set of matches. I'll post the next batch a little early (it's about 90 minutes to the end of the first batch), but I'm at work and can't take the time to go digging around for YouTube clips on this one. Others are obviously encouraged to pick up the slack for me when it comes to favorite clips of the candidates.

All right, I'll help and see what I can find, there should be some pretty good clips out there that is good entertainment.

Re: WBM Greatest Talker of All Time - First Round Voting + Discussion
Heenan over Page
Vince over Backlund
Savage over Shane
Cena over Eddie
Heyman over Undertaker
Ross over Rude
Graham/Raven (abstaining for now; haven't seen enough of Graham's work)
Angle over Hall
Angle/Hall is extremely close for me. The rest of these weren't.

Re: WBM Greatest Talker of All Time - First Round Voting + Discussion
Heenan
Vince
Savage
Cena
Heyman
Ross
Raven
Angle
Raven deserves to be way higher than a 10 seed IMO. I'm probably a bigger Raven mark then most, but man he was absolutely amazing on the mic.

Re: WBM Greatest Talker of All Time - First Round Voting + Discussion
Advancing to the second round:
Ric Flair
Roddy Piper
Jim Cornette
Freddie Blassie
Harley Race
Curt Hennig
Harley Race
JBL
Daniel Bryan and Ultimate Warrior made a run at survival but came up short. The rest of the victims from this batch were purely fodder.

Re: WBM Greatest Talker of All Time - First Round Voting + Discussion
Heenan over Page
Vince over Backlund
Savage over Shane
Cena over Eddie
Heyman over Undertaker
Ross over Rude
Graham over Raven
Hall over Angle
Rick Rude was great, even in the broadcasting booth when he would get put there for a match, but he's going against one of the GOAT.
Raven is enjoyable, but Graham is one of the GOAT on promos. I grew up watching Raven, and Graham peaked before I was born, but Graham's promos are just better on average, and way more influential, and were way more effective.
Kurt Angle, again, is generally enjoyable, but Hall's mic work was, week in and week out, one of the most enjoyable things in wrestling during an amazing golden era when wrestling was on fire. Perfect at getting the job done at the time, and still fun to watch today. Hall has done his best to spoil his legend; if his post NWO life had gone better, his work would be regarded much more highly.
