We are going to attempt to fix every WM card from 2-30, and vote.

The way it works is I will be using every superstar on the roster from the previous WM and the RR prior to the WM being worked on.
I looked at all the prior WM and it seems like the current card only has 8/possibly 9 matches, but back in the day there were WM's with 10, 12 and 16 matches, so I feel the best way to handle that is 10 matches across the board for every WM.

In this thread there is NO WCW, NO ECW, no wrestler every passed away, or got injured, etc, if the superstar was on the roster the year before, he stays on the roster the next year and so on. The only thing that will change is the wrestlers age, for instance the roster will look like this John Doe(41), so age will play a factor in the superstars performance.
There will be no female superstars (sorry), no gimmick superstars (like football players, boxers, etc) and all tag teams can combine at any time, for instance you can pair up Money Inc as early as WM3, but non tag team specialists can pair up ONCE.
Only battle royals and 3(or more)way matches will be accepted as gimmick matches, tables, chairs, ladders and cages are really unnecessary as all matches will be classic WM no DQ format. MITB matches are welcomed but only after it was debuted.

I stayed away from triple threat matches and booked match types that existed at the time.

I thought about Hogan vs Bruno but a) Watch Mania 1 to see how out of shape and past it Bruno is and b) I wanted a clear Heel vs Face, don't want to damage Hulkamania by having half the crowd support Sammartino.

Also babyface Jake The Snake = bad. And who's Face/Heel for Harts vs The Funks?

I tried to stick to the heel/face orientation that they all were at the time.

I went by anybody can be a heel face at any time format (kinda silly), and as far as Bruno vs Hogan, ya I agree it's not the best of ideas but at the same time Hogan/random guy in the audience would have been better than Hogan/KKBundy.

Hogan vs Piper was the clear best option.

It'll be interesting to work with cards like III that actually had the correct big main event matches, rather than II where you can happily change the entire diabolical card.

Uncle Elmer vs Adrian Adonis is the worst Mania match ever (maybe apart from Bret vs Vince) and Adonis is really good.

Roberts vs Wells (who was a jobber!). It's a Superstars match.

Let me throw this out there now seeing as though we are early in the thread, after we choose the best card I need someone (who thinks they are knowledgeable enough) to create a Power30 of the best 30 wrestlers in the company after the event is over.
Champions and Royal Rumble winners will NOT be used in the Power30 as they are already a shoe-in to the next WM.

I'm a dog in this competition, but I thought I'd try a couple out anyway. Some of these matches are silly, but I believe the Wrestlemania 2 fan base would have have been entertained by most of these matches.

I didn't look too closely to any cards until after I had made mine. Where I'm a dog in the competition is not knowing what was going on as to why certain matches would have never happened. I'm just basing a lot of these matches on my youtube viewing and trying to draw recollections from watching these old PPVs, but mostly I'm just attempting to make make dream matches based on the roster without much concern over the landscape at the time of the actual event. That may count me out in this competition. All good.

If it's up to me, I'm scrapping that idea. One card in one location (MSG).

I'm also going to keep the champions entering each Wrestlemania the same.

* As has been said, the best main event short of building Hogan/Andre here, and there's no reason to do that before WM3. Hogan/Orndorff works as well, except I believe that had been done already on an SNME or something (Maybe "The Big Event" supercard whenever that was).

INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE
Randy Savage (c) vs. Junkyard Dog
* I have no idea how "over" JYD was at this point in his WWE tenure, but this is a different look from what most people have gone with and I think could work well.

TAG TEAM TITLES
The Dream Team (Beefcake/Valentine) (c) vs. The British Bulldogs
* Right time for the Bulldogs to go over, they were the legit best team at this time.

Ricky Steamboat vs. Bret Hart
* According to Hart in his book, this match was originally scheduled to happen, but got scrapped by Vince, who instead put the Hart Foundation in the 20-man NFL battle royale. Bret and Steamboat instead had this match in the Boston Garden weeks before WM2 and it was very, very good. It's on youtube for sure.

20-MAN NFL BATTLE ROYALE

Guys I want to scrap this whole thread and start at WM1, I think WM2 will make a lot more sense if WM1 was fixed first.
If so I need somebody (antidan I hope) to put the final card together after suggestions have been made, I also want somebody to put a 'power 30' together after every card has been drafted, if not I can do it.
I'm actually thinking of going all out and adding the other 3 big ppvs and possibly the KOTR ppv, opinions?

I don’t know enough about any of these other guys to have a good opinion of what to do, and am at work so don’t have time to thoroughly research it. JYD, Rose, Beefcake and Valiant are all more than capable hands able to put on two singles matches or a tag together in some combination.

I didn't make Steamboat IC champ yet because I want to wait on it and build to Savage/Steamboat at WM3, why change that?

Assuming we are starting this thing entirely over I think i'll put some of my matches from Wrestlemania 2 on this card. Also, are we attempting to make the best card for each Wrestlemania based on that actual card only, or like Antidan said are we trying to build thing up through the years? As in if for example only I have Hulk and Macho Man on my roster for five wrestlemania's can I make that match for all of those wrestlemanias because I think it's the best they could have done THAT year or should I remember they wrestled the year before and not do that again as our fictional audience would be bored of that match for the fifth year in a row? If it's the latter I don't know if I can find the time to do this but if it's for that one year with that one roster I think I could. tl;dr
