Meltzer has gotten a little star-crazy in his old age.

This is a 6 star comment

Edit: Changed to 6 star because ****** looked like I was saying something derogatory

Don't know if anyone here even caught the entire PPV (I only saw the Punjabi Prison match, iirc). But here are Meltzer's ratings:

English vs. Dillinger: 1.5
New Day vs. Usos: 3.5
Nakamura vs. Corbin: 1.5
Women's five-way: 2.5
Owens vs. Styles: 3.25
Cena vs. Rusev: 3
Zayn vs. Kanellis: 2
Mahal vs. Orton 0.75

Neither Owens/Styles nor Cena/Rusev deserved ***+ IMO.

New Day/Usos, Nakamura/Corbin, Mahal/Orton ratings seem on point.

Didn't really watch the women's match or the Sami Zayn match.

I wonder if that's the lowest rating Nak's ever got.

I wouldn't be surprised if Nak is back in NJPW by this time next year. I certainly hope so.

His next match is with Cena. And they are slowly building up to a Styles/Nak feud. Doesn't seem to be any reason for Nak to leave yet.

According to this, no. He got a 1.25 in a tag match against two of the Gracies (WTF?).

Those NXT ratings seem generous to me.

I didn't watch any of it except the main event and the end of the Shield tag match, but Meltzer's rating seem high for the main. 4.75 is what he gave Rollins/Cena at SS and Rollins/Cena/Lesnar at RR, but both those matches were better than the 4-way.

Yeah I agree both of those matches were better than the 4 way. I went back and watched all of NXT and I wouldn't rate any match outside of the women's title more than a 4.

I agree that ****3/4 for that main is too high. I'm more in line with iso's rating.

He also went higher than I would have on Shield/Shesaro and KO/AJ. And definitely too high on McIntyre/Roode.

Feels like Meltzer is significantly more likely to be too generous than too stingy in his ratings these days.

McIntrye/Roode was pretty boring to me. I also thought New Day/Uso was much better than the Shield match. I enjoyed the main but yeah still seems too high.

Usos/TND should be like 4.25 minimum

McIntyre/Roode getting a higher rating than New Day/Usos is absurd. Also any rating of Show/Cass that doesn't start with a minus sign is too high.

Negative stars shouldn't ever be a thing, but certainly that match was a zero-star situation.

To correct myself, he gave 4.75 to the 2015 RR 3-way, but only 4.5 to Rollins/Cena (and Sasha/Bayley from the same weekend).

Call me crazy, but with his recent spew of 5, 6, and 6 1/4 star ratings, at the very minimum you guys should look at his ratings a bit differently.

I just sort of assumed those were out of ten.

(I saw the last match and I'd call it an even 4* but I had the sound off so probably owe it a quarter star for the impact of steps on someone). Sheamus/Cesaro vs. Shield-lite I'd say 3.5, maybe 3.75. Didn't watch enough of anything else to know.

Resurrection for the lolz of Da Meltz:

2. The Usos regained the Smackdown tag titles beating the New Day, in this case Big E & Xavier Woods in a Hell in a Cell match in 21:56: ****

3. Randy Orton beat Rusev in 11:37: ***1/4

4. Baron Corbin won a three-way over A.J. Styles and Tye Dillinger in 19:19: ***½

5. Charlotte Flair beat Natalya via DQ in 12:15: ***

6. Jinder Mahal beat Shinsuke Nakamura in 12:02: **

7. Bobby Roode pinned Dolph Ziggler in 11:29: **3/4

8. Kevin Owens beat Shane McMahon in 38:42: ****1/4

9. Hulk Hogan beat Andre the Giant: -****

This was a pretty damn good PPV since every match was at least six stars better than Hogan-Andre.
