Gotta be Savage, yeah.

At least he got the honor of being runner-up in the dumbest ****ing ending in Rumble history (1993).

Some big names just counting guys who's entire careers was in Rumble era:

Mankind and all other Mick Foley incarnations
Chris Jericho
Kurt Angle
CM Punk
Kane and Big Show

(Randy Orton has one, unless you meant Macho Man, who technically is probably the best career to not include a Rumble win though his glory years were before it existed)

Er, yeah should have specified Savage there especially since the convo was on Orton. That's my bad.

That's a pretty good list when you factor in longevity for Kane/Show. I think the most surprising one is Angle though. I suppose being around with Rock/Austin and then moving to TNA explains it.

I guess in order of "damn they should have gotten one" it'd be like Savage > Angle > Jericho as the top 3. Especially since Jericho SHOULD have won it the year vs punk.

So The Rock tweeted that he's in Philly. I wonder if he'll show up tomorrow.

They just want to keep the streak of frustrating people with non-entrants alive. It is the new Undertaker at Wrestlemania streak.

I liked this for a second, but then realized Rock's not jobbing and you didn't build Russev up this far to have him lose to a guy making a cameo.

delusional people itt need to start preparing their succotash for the suffering of a lifetime

really though, reigns is much less of a smooth jimmy's lock of the week than batista was last year or cena the year before.

Rock is probably just going to have a backstage segment with Reigns where he gives him his support and pass the torch in a way.

same. i'll be in around 10pm for the last two matches. even then, i might try to stay unspoiled and just d/l later. i'm ready for disappointment. luckily there is no situation where they'll have both Cena and Reigns win.

Interesting hypothetical I was thinking about:

Let's say you're on creative and Vince comes to get your opinion (yeah LOL I know) and says something along the lines of: "OK so we want Reigns to win tonight, but based on reactions lately and how things went last year with Batista I really don't want the fans ****ting all over it." Obviously the lack of positive reaction to Reigns involves other underlying issues, but that put aside, how would you suggest to book a Reigns rumble win to get him the least heat possible?

I'm thinking a final four of Reigns, Big Show, a returning Sheamus, and maybe Rusev. Sheamus has eliminated Daniel Bryan, Ambrose, Ziggler, and others putting heat on him. But fans still might **** over the entire thing.

Thoughts? Is there any way to book Reigns tonight if he's the planned winner that gets him cheered significantly?

Probably no way he gets a huge pop for winning. They can't have DB out of the top 4 either. He's 100% in top 4. Maybe they'll eliminate Bryan the same way they did Punk last year and settle that feud with Kane.

Rusev is 80% losing to Cena at Mania (probably winning a match at Extreme Rules to "balance it" like they did with Wyatt last year), 10% losing to Rock at Mania, 9%beating Ryback, 1% losing to Ryback IMO.

Rollins doesn't win the triple threat, attempts a cash-in that fails, enters the Rumble and makes it to the last two with Reigns, Reigns goes over.

The initial stuff is just to set up how you can get Rollins into the match. Once he's in, him going under Reigns gets your best reaction I think.

You're probably right, but even in Philly I could see Rollins getting cheered over Reigns by hardcores. The only guy I could see them hating on more is Sheamus, lol.

Normally, maybe, but the love that wrestlers get on a return after being out for months might offset the usual heat that Sheamus might expect in Smarkville.

Agreed.

It's kind of interesting how many ways they can go with things tonight considering how poor the build has been overall.

I expect something along the lines of tonight leading to Reigns vs Lesnar, Cena vs Rusev, Orton vs Rollins, Taker vs Wyatt (?), Sting vs HHH or maybe even combining that match with Orton vs Rollins, Bryan vs heel Sheamus? But they could go a lot of different routes too.
