From Roddy's younger days (presumably in the Portland, Oregon territory):

Another of my favorites gone.

The thing that most surprised me ever was that Roddy was from Canada.

Isn't he related to the Harts somehow?

Don't think they were related; think they just had close Canada connections.

I read that Roddy Piper aka Roderick Tombs said that Hart had family on his dad's side that had the last name "Toombs" however they thought maybe it was a spelling error from when the family first arrived in Canada and perhaps they were cousins somewhere along the line. Either way, Piper and Hart kept the rumor going by calling each other "cuz."

Roddy was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I live in Regina, a few hours away.

Somebody here once suggested "They Live" when we were discussing movies in the off-topic thread. I watched it upon their suggestion and thought it was fairly decent. Might have to watch it again soon as a tribute.

Getting sad when you start getting to an age where all the people you loved to see on TV as a kid start dying.

RIP Roddy.

He was on the Steve Austin podcast a year ago or so. Rather sad stories iirc, but I recommend it.
