I've never been a wrestling fan, but I was a child of the 1980's and had friends who were fans, so I was exposed to a lot of wrestling when I was a kid. Thus, while I've never really "gotten" wrestling, I did enjoy watching George and I was saddened today when I heard the news.

Miss Elizabeth once told me that he was a "sweetheart."

Steele main evented with Sammartino, Morales, Backlund, and Hogan during their world title reigns.

How many others can say that?

I'll always remember how shocked I was to find out that he could actually speak normally and was even a teacher.

He seems to have had it rough with his health the last 15-20 years.

Not sure if anyone saw this, but this video was posted last night and starts off, "if you are seeing this, then that means I'm already dead."
