By the time it actually happens will anyone even care anymore?

That's now 2 times punk has been white hot and squandered

I wouldn't be surprised if he never fights. 37 years old with multiple concussions and zero combat experience.

One article was predicting he will debut at UFC 200, on the same card as the Rousey rematch and the next McGregor match, to try to make sure UFC 200 breaks all previous UFC PPV records.

But he won't have impact Lesnar did. Lesnar's appeal wasn't just that he was a pro wrestler. It's that he's gigantic, looks intimidating, and is very athletic. Punk's pro wrestling appeal was his mic work. He wasn't really that athletic. And he sure won't look intimidating at 185. Even less so at 170, should he go that route. So his mainstream appeal won't really transfer to UFC as well Lesnar did.

I don't think that's really true. Lesnar when he debuted was immediately and widely dismissed as some wwe guy who couldn't make it in the NFL, and his debut PPV he was either the 2nd or 3rd match on the card. Had Lesnar lost that fight he would have had no appeal at all and would have just amounted to Kimbo Slice as a 1 shot curiousity. his appeal ultimately was that he was beating the **** out of Mir et al plus his connections to the WWE audiance, and his post fight interviews which were always hilarious and antagonistic (I remember one where he was flipping people off yelling about how he was gonna drink bud or coors (whichever one was the competitor of UFC's sponsor). I think that was after the Carwin fight

The point being Lesnar had appeal because he was winning. If punk wins in his fights and becomes a credible title contender he'll have massive appeal because of the intangibles he brings to the table that suppliment the winning same as Lesnar brought. I don't think he will, but I didn't think Lesnar would either but here we are

Becoming a star in UFC isn't that far from becoming one in wrestling as far as I can gather. Wins+character+mic work+look. But UFC can't script the people with the other 3 qualities to win, and wrestling often doesn't.

Wait, what?

Lesnar was immediately billed as a star in the UFC. He was given co-main event billing against a former UFC champion.

(at least as a fighter; he might have a future in commentary)

It'll be interesting if or what they try to do with him.

It wasn't in UFC. It was with some weird promotion against a guy with a losing record.

Lesnar's first MMA fight was for a one time company that put on an event completely focusing on him as the main event. He was originally supposed to fight some Korean MMA version of the Great Khali that Lesnar called "the big headed guy" but the big headed guy pulled out at the last minute and Lesnar ended up easily beating some Korean guy half his size. Lesnar's interview after that is pretty funny mostly for him grabbing his balls while thanking everyone for coming out.

edit: the fight

This was released today but I can't find a full breakdown of this category. Just the Lou Thesz award. Can anyone find this for me/list the order from 1. to Rollins?

There is.

Based on info from some other forum I found, Rollins was #6, which was tops among WWE guys.

Other WWE guys in the top 20:
#10 Cesaro
#13 Balor
#14 Cena
#17 Lesnar
#18 Owens
