Gotta say, I do like this feature where you can watch games on MLB.tv with the sounds of the ballpark and no commentary track whatsoever. I've never watched a full game in this setting, but I'm enjoying tonight's that way.

Playoff hockey though, come on dude

Also, I think my most used feature has always just been the audio. Flawless over cell networks too

I cut my cable cord.

Admittedly that's hurting right about now with the playoffs under way, and I briefly considered reconnecting earlier today because of it, but I didn't think I'd get enough for my $60 more per month to justify it.

(Will definitely reconnect when football season rolls around.)

Any chance Chicago comes back from the beating the Preds are putting on them?

Nashville seems like one of those teams that is 100% built for the playoffs. Super quick, and a goalie who is hot as the sun right now

I mean, anything's possible, especially with a team with as much experience as the Hawks who aren't as likely to get rattled by a goal drought, but I do think Nashville has their number this year. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see them make it out of the West, either. All the Western playoff teams seem pretty interchangeable.

That's true, There is certainly a bit more personality in the east.

The hyper-annoying rube who is also a nice guy is a formidable foe. He lowers your quality of life when he is around, yet commits no moral wrong in doing so and thus sort of turns you into the ******* for getting fed up with him.

At least those who have the decency to be full-on jerks give you ammo to easily prop them up as villains.

I just started The Sopranos this weekend. 4 episodes deep and I'm pretty much hooked. Gandolfini is so good.

To be fair, that second Preds goal was bull****, but they were totally outhustled starting late in the second. The Preds are just a quicker overall team.

Shipt is a service that just launched in Indianapolis, and it ****ing rocks so far (in spite of the lame name).

Since I know I'm not the only hater of grocery shopping ITT, I figured it would merit a mention in case it comes available to any of you. I'm afraid the coverage map doesn't line up with coverage for a lot of you that I know the locations of (except possibly iso and Halpert), but hopefully they'll keep expanding.

I used to use PeaPod delivery service from Stop & Shop, and while they did well enough getting quality veggies and fruits, they'd botch items and "replace" them with similar items (cheese danish instead of cheesecake) along with having half their deli/meat section unavailable for delivery. Super glad I live 400 feet from a Market Basket and .5 mile from a Whole Foods

Wait. People don't like going to the grocery store? I love it. I go multiple times a week to a variety of stores. One of my daughter's first words after Mommy and Daddy was Mariano's. I am in shock that there are people who don't like going

With Shipt you can set substitutions to three options: (1) you tell them to never substitute; (2) you tell them to use their best judgment; or (3) contact you when an item is unavailable. I have it set to the third option. As part of last night's order, the shopper texted me that something was unavailable, proposed an alternative, and with it texted me a pic of the similar item. I gave it the thumbs up.

My first experience on fruits was that the shopper chose well. Deli and meat sections are fully available, but I haven't used them yet; will need to use deli on the next order.

Also I have a very convenient supermarket in terms of availability, but it's the actual act of going through the damn grocery store and doing the shopping that I'm willing to pay to contract out. Screaming kids, slow-moving shoppers, **** that whole scene.

Is online grocery shopping not standard over there? Here all the big supermarkets do home delivery with good service.

I suspect my coastal liberal elite area will have an Amazon Go store within the next year

I'm legit stunned it's not standard over there for supermarkets to deliver. How has no chain started doing this? Surely they'd clean up.

I usually place an online order with the closest market to my place, set it for the next day, and drive through after work. They load you up, you can inspect as much as you want right there, and you drive away.

Only once have I said no to something, and it was because of cracked eggs. I'm pretty sure they just got cracked as they loaded them in to my vehicle, but they said no worries and when I got home I had a credit on my account. Simple, easy.

We have a bunch of third-party food delivery companies (Foodler, Grubhub, etc.) here as well as Postmates (will afaik deliver whatever you want). Surprised no UBEREats yet here, though

Finally got around to Fences. Very glad that Viola Davis shipped an Oscar for it. Denzel had a good case to win too.

Is this any better than Amazon Prime Now? I'm pretty happy with it. Usually get whatever I want from Fresh Thyme in sub 4 hours.
