Cougs up 14-13 on UCLA down in the Rose Bowl, but we lost our starting QB to an obvious concussion, and if he can't return after halftime we're losing this game like 98% of the time.
The sports media likes to say people are unbeatable all the time. I don't know jack about the UFC, but as soon as I heard Holly Holm won all those kick boxing titles, I questioned why Ronda was favored by so much. Don't get me wrong, I still had her winning, but has she ever faced a kick boxer before? I thought she might be in trouble, but I didn't think she would get dominated like that. Still, I was more shocked when the Patriots lost in 2007.
I didn't see the fight but I bet against Rousey for the first time because she can't win every ****ing fight. Pleasantly surprised when I saw the result. +650 ftw

I thought so considering Ronda was -1100 but w/e. I didn't even know there was an event until a couple hours before it happened. Was watching JCarver's stream and he mentioned it. Instantly put some money on it on Bovada.
I'm a huge boxing fan, so I was familiar with Holly Holm as she was female fighter of the year in 2005 and 2006. That was a long time ago though, and I thought that as an athlete she was past her prime running into a machine. My buddy is a huge MMA vs. me a Boxing fan so I've had a lot of fun with him telling him "THE BEST UFC FIGHTER EVER ZOMG!!" lost to a washed up boxer.
The truth is Holm was still a very good boxer through 2013 - some say the best woman's boxer ever - or among the best. Rousey seemed to want to make a point with her striking and picked a terrible opponent to try that against.
It wasn't just that. There were two or three times during the 1st round where Rousey had her in position for a throw and didn't execute any of them. Once Holm got a takedown out of it. That is one reason why I think there was something else going on
man if only miami could continue playing the afc south or nfc east
currently 4-1 vs those divisions
0-4 otherwise
if only they'd gotten to start the season off with the entire nfc east + an afc south team like atlanta there could have been people talking about them (note: atlanta is terrible, do not be fooled by their 5-0 start vs nfc east and houston)
It's good to have divisions, but there seems to usually be the "man, I wish I played in that division" thing going on. Colts have been a ****ing joke this year, are now down Andrew Luck, and will still probably ship the AFC South. It's more annoying in the Colts' case than most when you consider that they're the luckiest franchise in professional sports.
But whatever, my team was the beneficiary of that nonsense in 2010, and without it I don't get the Beastquake run against the Saints, so I'm glad that the system is somewhat broken just for that.
Also it's halftime and my team appears to be playing horribly again. We're 4-4, but somehow we're looking at a situation where we're going to be nine games in and not one of the games will have actually been enjoyable to me, barring a truly awesome second half tonight. So that's good.
It's still possible that we win this game, but this insistence the Seahawks have on starting almost every game slowly and then ramping up later is infuriating. And they might have dug too big of a hole this time.
Thankfully enough of the losses have been especially painful that I've allowed them to pretty much rip my soul out (the soul regenerates by next season), so further losses hit a point of diminishing returns within a season and irk me less.

Can we petition the league to change the Colt's symbol to a Horseshoe up somebody's ass?
Officially a more miserable season than the 2004 Seahawks season was. 4-5 with all five losses featuring 4th quarter leads, three of them with leads in the final minute of the 4th quarter.
Defensive coordinator is the biggest change that I point to. They've blown a lot of late leads. This past offseason we lost our second defensive coordinator to a head coaching job in three seasons (Dan Quinn to Atlanta this time), and the D is failing a lot more under this current one.
Since the talent in place is mostly the same - except for adding Jimmy Graham, which can't possibly be the reason that we're far worse - the defensive coaching switch is the most obvious suspect.
I mean, we traded our second-best lineman (Max Unger) for Jimmy Graham and our blocking is far worse, so I guess that's the other thing. But Unger was perpetually hurt, and he missed half the games last year including missing all of the postseason, so I'm slow to blame that also.
Yeah that sounds scammy. I would prefer that new words stop getting invented in general, but I think that just makes me a premature old man.
I tried to think up a pet peeve on demand (sort of on demand), but I'm coming up empty on new material. Much of the time it's just the same semi-daily annoyances over and over again that I've already griped about.
