Even as a superfan of the NFL, the training camp media cycle is painful. Across the league, it's nothing but a bunch of this ****:
Quote:
Jason La Canfora @JasonLaCanfora
Totally different vibe at Colts camp in 16. Keeping Grisgon/Pagano was the smarting thing Irsay's done in a while
Ignoring the typos: WTF? We're making that determination about the Colts' extensions because of "vibe" during
practice? And obviously this crap is going on across the league. Somehow every single player in the league is in the best shape of his life and is poised for a breakout season. If you dig in deep enough then you can sort of separate the more sincere/meaningful compliments from the bull**** (this varies from coach to coach), but the stories are generally meaningless and, even worse, uninteresting, because a mild variation of the same story is showing up at least 32 times per day across the country for weeks on end, year after year.
Stories about injury reports and contract disputes can at least be meaningful. But all of this "how did practice go?" ****..."It went very well. Our starters, led by a QB who nobody is allowed to hit, looked very impressive against our backups. Make your Super Bowl travel reservations early."
