Far be it from me to admit to even occasionally lurking in Politards, but that was some strong work on the DNC thread title.



I've had that song intermittently stuck in my head for several days now because of it.

I learned two things today:

1. There is a politics forum here at 2+2

I clicked on that link, and the fourth thread was "Who really did 9/11". I never have to go in that forum ever again. But honestly my Facebook timeline is already filled up with ignorant people spouting bad facts about politics, I really don't need another forum to see that

For some reason I felt the need to not only click on that thread but also look at the results of the poll.

I didn't even know there was a poll. Now I'm going to have to go back and look. I hope I don't do anything too drastic after I see it

Even as a superfan of the NFL, the training camp media cycle is painful. Across the league, it's nothing but a bunch of this ****:

Ignoring the typos: WTF? We're making that determination about the Colts' extensions because of "vibe" during practice? And obviously this crap is going on across the league. Somehow every single player in the league is in the best shape of his life and is poised for a breakout season. If you dig in deep enough then you can sort of separate the more sincere/meaningful compliments from the bull**** (this varies from coach to coach), but the stories are generally meaningless and, even worse, uninteresting, because a mild variation of the same story is showing up at least 32 times per day across the country for weeks on end, year after year.

Stories about injury reports and contract disputes can at least be meaningful. But all of this "how did practice go?" ****..."It went very well. Our starters, led by a QB who nobody is allowed to hit, looked very impressive against our backups. Make your Super Bowl travel reservations early."

I watched The Resurrection of Jake the Snake. That was fairly enjoyable, though the impact is probably lessened by me seeing some of the best parts in individual YouTube clips while DDP was still making it.
