but I am still surprised Pat Patterson came out today especially with the lawsuits filed against him years ago

Pat Patterson has been openly gay for 40+ years. Legends House was originally produced before the WWE network with the hope that a channel would pick it up like E did with Total Divas. The show was shot in about 2 weeks around 2 years ago. Pat Patterson "coming out" was done to create a buzz because young fans don't even know who he is, let alone him being gay and hopefully get it picked up for another season by whatever channel they were hoping would pick it up on the first place.

I wish the story here was less "Brave man comes out in an environment ripe with homophobia" and more "Despite having an openly gay employee in a reasonably high profile employee for years the WWE still shamefully runs gay panic angles".

When the campaign started they had Cena and Punk physically abuse old man in a suit Johnny Ace for like no reason. It's not nearly as bad when the bullies are the bad guys and it definitely isn't true the bullies are always the bad guys.

The best worst writing is how a bad guy is bad for trying to beat up King but King calls for good guys to beat up people like Heyman on the reg. It's just crazy.

Keeping things on topic a bit.

I personally do not think people need to "come out".

Who cares if you are gay, do your damn job and people will appreciate it.

Maybe I am more open than most in my views on things, but making a big deal about your race or sexuality just demeans what you are trying to do.

If I am paying to see someone wrestle or act in a movie, why am I supposed to care what they do outside of that?
