I tried to search around a bit for some old Hennig stuff and one thing that gives me pause is that apparently the AWA library is owned by WWE too, so it could prove difficult to find a lot on YouTube. Owen I knew was in that sweet spot where most of the meaningful stuff in his career happened a bit more recently and if nothing else there would be at least 10 PPV matches per year to talk about.

I'll research what's out there about Hennig or Savage before I actually start into doing something on them.

Can't wait to read about "The Plane Ride From Hell" again.

Really enjoyed following this as well. I missed a lot larger chunk of Owen's career than I realized. I did gain a little more appreciation for Owen as the thread moved on. He would have been such a great fit when smaller wrestlers started getting more of a chance to shine; the matches he would have had with more capable opponents could have been amazing.

I'm hoping the Network starts rolling out more of their archives soon, so many of the guys I would enjoy seeing have pre-WWE careers that would be nice to start with.

Yeah, his ability to work so well with the likes of Sean Waltman does speak volumes, considering the talent level of the likes of Benoit/Malenko/Guerrero that came along not long after Owen's death. I did link a match with Benoit here from Japan, but if Owen ever fought with Dean or Eddie I don't know of it.

I've watched the Liger match probably 3 times since you posted it, and last weekend I tried to do some digging on if Hart ever faced guys like Malenko, Guerrero, or even a young Jericho in Mexico or Japan and didn't find anything. I'm pretty sure WWE owns the Stampede archives, so it'll be interesting to see if anything comes out from that.

Here's an almost hour-long podcast with Jerry Lawler talking Owen memories. Good listen so far (I'm 15 minutes in): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iLLrzKZHhQ
