Have him destroy Santino and Hornswoggle at the same time.

I cant really visualize how to get him heat because it seems like hed get cheered for a lot.
Here's how I'd do it:

Have Cena go on a massive losing streak. I don't mean have him job to Jack Swagger but just have him lose, constantly.

Have Cena show more an more frustration in the ring, leading up to a match with a lower midcard guy (someone like Slater, Gabriel or Bourne). Cena is winning easily until the jobber gets in a quick pin (think 1-2-3 kid vs. Razor Ramon). Said jobber goes nuts in the ring with his celebration, and Cena begrudgingly offers him a handshake....and when said jobber accepts, Cena gives him the AA and destroys him utterly, until the locker room has to empty to get him to leave.

Cena comes out on the next RAW, cuts a scathing promo on the fans saying that they only loved him because he won, and weren't willing to support him on a losing streak. Cena is now only in it for himself and to prove he is the best wrestler of all time, a better celebrity than the Rock etc. Cue Thuganomics Cena, 2+2 Wrestling forum explodes due to number of YES!.gif posts during Cena's promo

Never gonna happen tho

punk going heel pretty much cements the fact that cena never will. they have nobody ready to take over the mantle of top guy and clearly nobody that they have faith can do the job. til that time comes happy-go-lucky talk-to-the-camera dabba doo supercena will never give up cenation!

Re: Official WrestleMania Thread

Any turn that ends with people here cheering him on is a failed turn. The only way to do it is to continue the LOLSUPERCENA character that everyone here hates so much, complete with boring promos and mediocre matches, but instead against faces. Basically you're looking for Hollywood Hogan 2.0 here.

At this point there isnt a big enough heel for it to make sense and the story would be dumb for it to be Big Show who is the nearest to that point right now.

Id have built the turn in such a way that the heel is built first. Basically its what they did with the Nexus story 2 years ago when Cena wanted to turn heel at survivor series except i would follow through with it.

Yeah, this. I mean "never" is too strong for me considering that Hogan eventually did it, but it sure isn't happening anytime in the near future and people should give up the dream until the entire texture of the WWE changes.

The thing is that the longer they've insisted on keeping Cena as a babyface, the dumber and less believable it's going to be once he finally does turn.

They certainly did the right thing in turning Punk. Having your distant #2 babyface hold the world title is retarded. A close second is fine. Having your top heel hold it, even if he's not as big as the top face, is fine as well. But what they were doing for so long was really dumb.

Cena can't turn heel until he gets the WCW Hogan treatment (everyone has to be booing him). I'm not sure that will ever happen.

I wasnt saying it would or should happen. Merely wondering how people would handle what littlekeed pointed out the problem would be, which is that a lot of people would cheer and that kinda ruins it

Surely one day a more popular babyface than Cena will again come along. Hogan started getting booed because there were viable alternatives to him and he was getting pushed down everyone's throats incessantly anyway. Same concept applies.

Thing is, this worker just isn't probably in the company yet. Randy Orton has a ceiling that's a bit below Cena; he's popular but he's not going to supplant Cena. CM Punk failed to be a viable alternative, though a big heel run before turning back one day might still allow some chance for him to be that alternative. Not optimistic though. Dolph Ziggler is probably the only other worker I give much chance to be a babyface megastar, but I'd have to see him work as a face first.

Oh I know. I wasn't refuting your question generally...but the "will Cena turn heel this time??" question gets constantly bandied about as legitimate speculation, and it does seem like people should just let go of it for the foreseeable future as it's just not a viable option right now.

Re: Official WrestleMania Thread

Would be pretty epic if they turned him now tho. Most unexpected, and itd be hilarious if they just legit had no faces on the roster

Re: Official WrestleMania Thread

Cena will turn heel when Vince dies and HHH takes over. HHH will then return as a full time wrestler and be the top face in the company while Cena is the biggest heel since the NWO. HHH will then proceed to bury heel Cena.

Hopefully we wont have to worry about any of this after Brock shows him a little stiff working

I would hesitate to say that Hogan was booed because there were other alternatives to him. Were there other major babyfaces other than Sting or Savage in 1996?

Instead I'd suggest that he was booed because he was a WWF guy completely dominating WCW guys on WCW turf. A longtime WCW fan isn't going to suddenly cheer Hogan over Flair just because a storyline says to (and they didn't). Hogan never received any heat of that sort in the WWF and it's hard for me to envision that ever happening. He was still probably the most over guy in the company in 1993 when Vince finally sent him packing.
