We have a spot opening in Fantasy Wrestling, link with rules etc is here http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/20...n-6-a-1433003/. You'd take over thebigeasy59's team, your job would be to announce two of his wrestlers you want to keep for next season (can't keep top 2 scorers) and then we have a draft to fill out the 8 remaining slots for everyone. Let me know if you're interested.

Wow. Admittedly I don't follow WWE closely at all, but I had no idea Bo and Bray were brothers and the sons of IRS. That was a fun five minutes of Wikipedia-ing

So we all agree the Rock is the coolest wrestler outside the ring, yeah?

This is just not Bryan's year.

Quote:
A former WWE champion is credited with stopping a burglar in Phoenix.

The incident happened on Monday night in the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix.

According to Phoenix police, Bryan Danielson, better known as Daniel Bryan, was pulling into his carport with his wife when he saw the door that leads to his house start to open.

Two men ran out of the house and fled on foot. Danielson was able to catch one of the men, 22-year-old Cesar Sosa.

Sosa and Danielson got into a struggle but Danielson was able to detain him until officials arrived, police said.

The second suspect was not located.

Sosa was booked into Maricopa County Jail and charged with burglary.

Danielson. former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, will talk with the media this afternoon, look for an update on ABC15 news at 4 p.m.

Damn I am hoping that DB was detaining him in the Yes Lock

So Daniel Bryan announced that he now needs a third surgery. Guy just cannot catch a break. Would love to see him be able to come back but that's not looking likely.

Quote:
Below is video of Daniel Bryan giving a press conference on the incident where he and Brie Bella returned home to find two burglars coming out of their home.

Regarding the man that Bryan detained, he said the man was so tired from the chase that it took no effort to take him down. Bryan doesn't think the man recognized him as a WWE Superstar. Bryan also said he was worried about getting sued when he had the man down.

Bryan got emotional when talking about the piece of jewelry from his late father that was almost stolen.

Bryan said WWE doctors called him yesterday and said he needs to have another surgery because he isn't healing very well. Bryan said doctors went in and removed bone spurs from his spinal cord but now the nerve from his neck has suffered a "double crush." Doctors want to perform another surgery to correct this. Bryan said he has about half the strength in his right arm than in his left arm. He doesn't think the incident with the burglar caused any further damage.

Nice that he at least went out on top if this is it for him. Definitely a bummer though.

I tend to think he'll be back around this time next year but he'll never have the popularity or chances that he did last year and this year. I sincerely hope he does because he's been my favorite since he choked Justin Roberts and then I searched him all over and found his great ROH stuff.

fwiw, someobody said he's having the same neck surgery that made SCSA change his style from mat wrestler to puncher. That is probably conjecture though because I have yet to see where a type of surgery or where in the neck the surgery is taking place.

What type of neck surgery did Edge have? I know circumstances for neck injuries vary wildly, but I also know there were a handful of people that were able to come back and still be very, very good after having neck problems for a while.

That's my biggest worry, that he'll have to change his style. But then again, Benoit did have a pretty serious neck injury and he came back okay.

Austin is surely a better example. There wasn't a better wrestler in the world in 2001.

Wrestler or performer? SCSA was pre and post injury a pretty meh wrestler, a fact even he'll attest to. He was an incredible performer tho. Bryan is pretty good on the mic but a lot of his love came from his high quality wrestling work. If he loses that, he's done.

Steve Austin was an amazing wrestler pre-injury, back when he was Stunning Steve Austin. Switching to the Stone Cold gimmick kind of changed his style somewhat, but there was still no doubting his abilities. Post-injury he managed to do what he could, still put on tons of great matches but he obviously had more physical limitations.

I agree with the point that if Bryan loses his abilities as an in-ring performer then it's going to suck if he comes back though.

Wrestler. Not chain wrestling or anything like that but watch his 2001 and you'll see greatness.

Royal Rumble win
vs. HHH in 3soh match @ NWO
vs. Rock at WM 17
vs. Rock in a cage the next night and formed the TMPT w/HHH
vs. Undertaker at Judgment Day
w/HHH vs. Benoit/Jericho the next night
vs. Benoit the next monday
vs. Benoit a few days later on SD
a triple threat with (I think) Benoit and RVD @ KotR
Invasion match where he turned heel
SummerSlam vs Angle
Unforgiven vs Angle
Survivor Series match, WWF vs WCW and numerous tv matches I can't recall. The guy was the absolute best in 2001 and I don't even think there's a contender on the same planet from that year. Benoit was going that way but then needed surgery on his neck in late-May/early-June

Of course his performances were second-to-none that year as well which provided me one of my favorite moments in wrestling history where he sung to Vince with Angle.

Lots of people call the NWO, WM, tag match, SSlam matches *****. Some give the SD! version of Austin/Benoit ***** as well. If you haven't seen those Benoit/Austin matches please for the love of god, go watch. So ****ing hot. They're in Canada.
