Football season doesnt help

Wrestling takes a back seat to MNF for me during the football season.

I flip back and forth but mainly watch MNF.

Yeah there is the football thing too.

End of football + beginning of road to WrestleMania should hopefully cause a spike. If it doesn't then that will be concerning.

You could do modern era only or US promotions only as a lot of the value in the last couple of drafts was from old timers and foreign based wrestlers. Making it peak would change things too, could maybe aim for a five year promotion.

I hope so, we had a pretty solid community here, it seems to be slowly dying though

Yeah I haven't liked seeing that.

I blame TradeOC.

Yeah I like that. We could do only guys who have wrestled in the US since 1980, and you get their best 5 years. If you take a Japanese guy who wrestled in the US he's only as successful as he was in America, not Japan.

There hasn't really been much to talk about recently, and yeah I expect that a few people aren't watching at the moment; I haven't watched much myself recently. Traffic should start picking up now we're starting to approach Wrestlemania as more people will be watching and there will be more to talk about.

Who's running the rumble pool this year?

I've always thought that an all-time draft where you have to start your promotion right here and now, and they have to be able to get over in the year 2012, would be interesting. That would mix up value quite a bit and make for interesting discussion.

Re traffic being down:

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Once the Rock/Punk fued starts everyone will be watching again.

I just looked at the forum to see if any segments were worth watching. It seems unlikely I would watch whole episodes again unless the entire style of the product changed (e.g. if it was way less scripted, or got vastly different writers).

Generally I love drafts so might be in depending on factors.

I haven't been watching because of school, product sucking for the most part, and trying to mend fences or burn bridges with old friends, depending on how our next conversation go, ala Bret/HBK interview documentary style.

I would like some cliffs on that latter part.

Also, I have decided. Anyone slacking off in between RR and WM will be banned. Thatll learn you all. And as usual, total aids in the product will be no excuse, just more reason to post blueboy.

Even the aids is stale.

The 3 hour raw started and meshed with the like month of downtime. Hasnt been the same since.

Confirmed posting fell off during 3 hour Raws. It's just too much of a grind and the time seems to really pass slowly. It reminds me of the great MST3K quip on Manos: The Hands of Fate. "What are we, like a half hour into this movie?" asks Crow. "More like a minute," responds Joel. It's how I feel every Monday.

I don't remember the last time I watched Raw or Smackdown and probably watch 1 in 3 PPVs atm, I tend to lurk as I don't have an opinion to share. I will be in for the Rumble draft(s) again after shipping last year with Sheamus.

I like this. We could do it where people don't have to have their promotion in the US. They can draft a bunch of Japanese guys and base the company out of Japan. We could do a 5 year peak for each wrestler.

Meh. This would still be the same old **** just with slight bumps in draft status for successful guys from 1996-Today, which for what it's worth was already happening in every draft of this nature ever.

What skill is needed to get over in 2012 that wasn't needed in 2002, 1992, or 1982?

the biggest example is Hogan who i doubt would get over in today's wrestling environment. the problem with this is that those wrestlers of yesteryear were catering to what the fans want just like mcmahon thinks he's catering to what people want right now.

Yeah fair enough, I guess all my idea really does for the most part is to cut a bunch of old pre-1980 legends off at the knees.

But Cena's character IS Hogan. Just a worse version of it.

I think Hogan would be over huge today if you put him back in his prime.
