The best way you can judge that Starrcade was their WM was how I remember Sting vs. Hogan building up all year. It seemed like you might get the match in the early or middle part of the year, maybe at Great American Bash or something. But once it got into about September, most any WCW fan nodded their head and realized, "They're holding this out for Starrcade." Even though Fall Brawl and Halloween Havoc had relatively big names themselves, it was plain to see that Starrcade was the climax and that's what we were going to have to wait until.
And then the match was brutal and terrible, even by standards of Hogan matches.
I always thought it was Starrcade, yeah. Although Starrcade is up there with December To Dismember, Fatal Four Way and Slammiversary when it comes to "worst PPV names".

wasn't a fast count by nick patrick fwiw, and wcw made up for it the next night on Nitro when they did the match again on free tv (joking obv)

How was it pronounced, Starrcade as in arcade? No long 'r' or weird vowel in the middle. For ages when ive seen the name ive just thought Star'r'cade, pronouncing it as a three vowel with the extra 'r' but i just realised that is pretty dumb so it cant be that.
