Why is that? Pretty sure it's one of the highest-rated shows on ScyFy, and they tape it with Smackdown so I don't see the issue. Would much rather see FCW, though.

imo, id rather it be a heat/velocity style show, like back in the day. gives the raw/smackdown midcard guys a chance to get built up.

until they start puting hacksaw on everyother week.

So WWE was the 3rd most popular search on Yahoo this year, but this paragraph concerns me. WWE can't possibly get a G-rating, can it? Is Hornswoggle going to get some sort of Hogna-esque WWE Title reign if this happens!?

Quote:
But not all the drama happened in the ring: CEO Linda McMahon (married to Chairman Vince McMahon) recently resigned her position in order to run as a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Connecticut. No doubt she'll be well-prepared for the fight of her life. That's not the only thing in the works: The family-friendly operation is setting its sights on the G-rated set. WWE's 2010 goal is to expand its audience to a younger crowd. Its new tag-team partner? Mattel. That pairing should soften up smackdowns.

Gah, ****ing internet crapped out on me mid post so i lost it all.

Summary of my points:

ECW is fine. Loads of great workers have been built out of there and basically none out of Smackdown and Raw. Its great to have a small step from FCW to ECW to the A or B brands and without it who knows if Punk, Kofi, Sheamus, Hart Dynasty, Miz and the revitalised careers of Morrison and Henry would have ever happened.

If it goes ill be shocked, simply for the reason it is a profitable venture and right now WWE will do anything that is profitable.

The company doesnt need another show to build mid card guys from Raw and Smackdown, they just need to stop being dicks and do it. Its funny but you can see a change in how these mid card guys were treated at exactly the point Shawn came back to the company. He was quoted in an interview as coming back and asking Jericho who has been built up in his absence, and Jericho could only name Ziggler and nobody from Raw had been built at all.

I assume the G rating is about none wrestling media. IE the magazine, the website and maybe some spin off TV series staring John Cena fighting dragons with Batman style POW bubbles over his fist when he hits the dragons and trolls or whatever. By definition im sure you cant G rate two guys fighting, even if they are trying to not injure each other.

Mattel isn't that different from Jakks. At least it's not Fischer-Price.

I despise it too. Where are they going with it anyway? I don't think the guy has even stepped into the ring yet.

Idk, he gets heat and all, but I mean it's just beyond dumb. Make him into a GM or something maybe? or co-gm? or just something, but the show is just GOD AWFUL i mean really? jumping on the couch? who the **** cares in wwe

abraham is actually a pretty fantastic worker, he had many great matches in FCW. but yea, his segments are really bad.

He was GM in FCW and was highly rated, hence his call up to do a talk show segment thing.

Ive not seen it in forever, but i majorly hated it and can understand those that do.

He has previously worked with the name Abraham Sadaam Washington. Damn you PG era.

There are probably a lot better matches out there, but just to show he isnt majorly terrible in the ring:

Personally i dont think he is being used correctly and working as GM would be a better fit, but meh.

I only caught one part of Raw, it was during halftime of the Pats/Saints game, but I liked what I saw.....Orton going ballistic and beating the hell out of Kofi, I liked that.

If WWE goes to a G rating, however, I am never going to watch it again........haven't really caught much TNA lately, but how would you guys who have been watching rate the product lately?

I think it's impossible to get a G rating with violence.

They already are PG genius. Thats why they dont allow blood and have edited out of previous matches on the website. I cant see how they could do a G rating on the wrestling programming, but i dont know nearly enough about the ratings system to be sure.

As for TNA, i agree with the evaluation of great PPVs and hit or miss Impact shows.

Speaking of, Hogan is going to be showing up at their Jan PPV (17th iirc). 2010 is going to be a huge year for wrestling with DGUSA expanding, TNA doing their thing, Evolve getting off the ground, ECW being changed in some way and possibly being killed off and WWE will carry on in their own ways.

Btw, speaking on WWE's ways, apparently Raw's host of the week is staying put for the foreseeable future as its seen as a huge success by the office and Smackdown is going to be tweaked in the new year to "develop its own identity". Quite what that means no one really knows right now.

In other news, The Rock is in informal negotiations to work WM next year (against Cena) and its likely his involvement will start from a guest host spot which he has been working with the company on doing for a couple months now. That would be pretty sick to see even though its a foregone conclusion what the result will be and i could probably tell you how the match is booked right now in a 5 point flowchart, lol.

Oh good, now we get to see Cena just bury The Rock too! Maybe they can make it a handicap match with HHH/Austin/HBK/Rock and Cena can easily overcome the odds and give them all the Attitude Adjustment at once and establish himself as the most invincible, kid-friendly wrestler of all-time!
Official WrestleMania Thread Quote
12-04-2009 , 01:23 PM
To be fair he wont bury the Rock and it has potential even though we know the result. I mean Shawn had basically zero chance of beating Taker at WM and that is arguably the best match of the year.

Its weird to think it, but Cena can raise his game and the Rock has to easily be in the top five of all time. If anyone can break out of the cookie cutter mould of how all Cena matches go i can see this being the one.

But yeah, id rather see him take on Jericho or Undertaker or someone like that.
