Juts read something super depressing.

Jake Roberts is only 59 years old.

OTOH, the fact that Jake even made it to 59 is incredible.

Still, he kicked Rick Rude's ass for painting his wife's face on his tights.

Even more depressing, he would have been just about my age when this happened, and even then he was looking very oldm

What's really depressing is that half the guys Jake feuded or stabled with didn't make it to 59.

During my three day banishment I saw a documentary about Prince Devitt/Finn Balor on DailyMotion*. It's called "Smack'em Up". The intro includes the song "Ecstacy of Gold" at the beginning so you just know it's going to be great. It's not must see or anything but it's good. Definitely rooting for him after seeing it. Unlike (what I assume) most wrestlers, he has an insane passion for it and doesn't seem to care about the money but just giving the fans what they want and the high he gets from performing.

*It's been taken down.

His shirt was scheduled to be stocked on 12/24...it's already sold out. They are now working on a batch to be sold on 12/31.

Don't think anybody here will top mine. Got 11 year old a guinea pig last Tuesday for X-Mas. She went to church with her mom and when she gets home, gotta break the news that he died.

how did it die

Not too sure. It had stopped eating for a day or two and was huddled up in his hay. He went into his house and died a few hours later. Kid told me just before church that he was very cold and asked me to check on him but insisted it was after she left. She later told me she thought he was dead . Poor girl, but she took it WAY WAY better than we thought she would.

wwe.com released their list of the 25 best matches of 2014

1 Team Cena (John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Big Show, Ryback & Erick Rowan) vs. Team Authority (Seth Rollins, Kane, Rusev, Luke Harper & Mark Henry) — Traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team Match (Survivor Series)
2 Adrian Neville vs. Sami Zayn — NXT Championship Match (NXT TakeOver: R Evolution)
3 The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family (Elimination Chamber)
4 Adrian Neville vs. Sami Zayn vs. Tyler Breeze vs. Tyson Kidd — Fatal 4-Way NXT Championship Match (NXT TakeOver: Fatal 4-Way)
5 The Shield vs. Evolution (Extreme Rules)
6 Natalya vs. Charlotte — NXT Women’s Championship Match (NXT TakeOver)
7 Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan vs. Batista — Triple Threat WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match (WrestleMania 30)
8 Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H (WrestleMania 30)
9 Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro (NXT ArRIVAL)
10 The Usos vs. The Wyatt Family — 2-out-of-3-Falls WWE Tag Team Championship Match (WWE Battleground)
11 Dolph Ziggler vs. Cesaro vs. Tyson Kidd — Triple Threat Elimination Intercontinental Championship Match (SmackDown; Nov. 14)
12 Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt (Royal Rumble)
13 John Cena vs. Cesaro (Raw; Feb. 17)
14 Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins — Lumberjack Match (SummerSlam)
15 Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan vs. John Cena vs. Cesaro vs. Christian vs. Sheamus — WWE World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match (Elimination Chamber)
16 Bad News Barrett vs. Dolph Ziggler — Intercontinental Championship Match (Raw; June 23)
17 El Torito vs. Hornswoggle — WeeLC Match (Extreme Rules)
18 John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt — Last Man Standing Match (WWE Payback)
19 John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar — WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match (SummerSlam)
20 The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal (WrestleMania 30)
21 Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Jack Swagger — Money in the Bank Ladder Match for a WWE World Heavyweight Championship Contract (Money in the Bank)
22 Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus vs. Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio — Intercontinental Championship No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match (Raw; March 24)
23 Cesaro vs. Randy Orton (SmackDown; Feb. 14)
24 Brie Bella vs. Stephanie McMahon (SummerSlam)
25 Daniel Bryan vs. Kane — Extreme Rules WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match (Extreme Rules)

Brie/Stephanie shouldn't be in the top 200, and I don't know where the hell Harper/Ziggler from TLC is, but overall this list isn't too bad.

Really surprised to see Cesaro there six times and so much NXT at the top.

This.....this....this....is surprisingly competent actually. (I only really looked at the top 5) Wow on not only acknowledging NXT, but praising them so highly. I mean, I know they are
part of WWE and not competition, but they have been making Vince look bad lately.

Roman Reigns didn't even make the WWE.com list and McMahon expects him to carry the company? He got away with Cena because the fans weren't jaded enough from years of crap product to bury Cena's initial superman push.
If he tries to force RR the fans are gonna push back with Bootista level jeers.

And I hate to say this but i'm gonna go ahead and say it; WWE should not be backing a top star who looks middle eastern with the current state of the world. Cena, Austin, Hogan, Reigns?? He doesn't fit the mold. I guess you can argue the Rock but Rock had crazy good mic skills (best in wrestling history) and he didn't look Middle Eastern at all. I thought Rock was Brazilian or French. Reigns is technically Samoan but he looks 100 percent middle eastern muslim. Not saying it can't work but it's a gamble for sure.

25 is a terrible/dumb match imo. 1 isn't top 5, but is good. I'd make room for Bayley/Charlotte- but over all pretty good and the NXT love is great.

I have the impression that the folks writing for the site are pretty disconnected from Vince tho

Also no problem with Brie/Steph is the top 25. Wrestling is storytelling- and you don't always do that with workrate.

12-27-2014 , 12:12 PM
Fair enough, but I wouldn't use the worst feud of the year as an example of storytelling superseding workrate.

WeeLC was awesome.

Brie/Nikki was awful storytelling. Steph/Brie wasn't great- but that specific match was.

I haven't seen them all- but Cena/Wyatt LMS and Kane/Bryan jump out as the worst to me. (Kane/Bryan also good for worst storyline).
