Jarrett leaves TNA on bad terms to form his own wrestling company.

Talks and talks about his new wrestling company for a couple of years, but doesn't run any events.

Comes back to TNA. Now says new wrestling company will work with TNA.

Did he ever leave really? Did anything change? Is Global Wrestling now TNA?

At least they haven't screwed ECIII up yet. He should have been fighting a face Roode for the title though.

Meltzer reported that GFW was actually not one of the top choices for this angle. They tried to get ROH to do it, then wanted a Mexican or Japanese promotion to do it.

Roode will be wrestling for GFW later this month apparently in the world title picture.

GFW has been running live events, but I don't like this idea that there's probably going to be an invasion angle that consists largely of people that have been wrestling mostly for TNA.

On ECIII, I completely agree. My understanding is that Angle was the guy because of the deal with Destination America.

That's pretty hilarious, but I guess it makes sense. They couldn't have really done it with ROH after they got the Destination America TV deal out of nowhere though.

Literally nobody will care about a GFW invasion.

True that.

It really comes down to the basics of storytelling. If you want to engage viewers / readers in whatever capacity then make them care. Why should the general audience care about GFW? What emotions does that stoke up? Only one of perpetual apathy.

Jarrett was by far the crowd favorite in that multiple person match. I don't know what they are hoping for but if it was to have Global Force be invading heels (or heel talent thieves, or some kind of heels) it isn't off to a good start.

I like invasion angles. But they only work if you sympathize with (at least) one company. In this case, one company is non-existing. The other one is TNA.

This sums it up perfectly for me.

Reminds me of the line from Trainspotting.

"The English are just wankers. We on the other hand, are colonised by wankers. We couldn't even find a decent culture to be colonised by."

Sums TNA up. They couldn't even find a decent company to be invaded by.

This doesn't mean the angle will fail. Ring of Honor did an invasion angle with CZW (Jaaaayzzzzus!), arguably the worst wrestling company in the world, and the fans loved it.

There might be some interesting ways to do it and we don't even know an invasion angle is what they've got planned, but guys who nobody know aren't TNA talents anymore invading TNA probably isn't the way to go. Unless they have everyone publicly jump ship on tv.

Watching TNA tonight because......well.......I have no good reason.

The Good: ECIII is sooooo good.

The Bad: Everything else.

A face Roode should be feuding with ECIII over the title now.

Also looks like the Global Force thing isn't going to be an invasion from the way Jarrett explained it. Seems like they just try to promote dream matchups between wrestling companies they partner with, which seems to be everybody except WWE at this point?

Maybe they can partner with NXT.

Maybe Global Force will give ECIII the exposure he deserves.

This thread hasn't been touched in more than 4 months, but there's actually some good news for TNA:

New Television Deal with the Pop Channel

Not as big as Spike but not nearly as small/niche as Destination America was.

What nobody really knows is that the question that was asked just before that picture was snapped was "Who farted?"

Reminds me of the captain on the Titanic. Whilst admirable it's overall pathetic.
