I haven't cared about PWG for a long time either. Haven't watched this event either but some comments on your comments.

Brian Cage is ****ing awesome. I have no idea why the WWE aren't throwing truck loads of money to sign him.

Glad to see I'm not alone with not being a fan of Roddy. Seems that everyone loves him but I'm constantly bored by everything he does.

Jeff Cobb is Matanza in Lucha Underground and yeah, he's really good.

Taylor vs Trent sounds pretty cool, might have to check it out.

It sounds like your reason for stopping PWG is the same as mine. No interest in those last 3 matches.

Will say that the Young Bucks are becoming so painful for me to watch. They jumped the shark long before New Day.

I loved TYB until around 2013. They're still tolerable in NJPW.
I thought I heard at one point that Cage was signed to WWE. I just assumed he left soon after or they released him soon after. Sounds like I'm wrong though. But yeah, I'm shocked Vince hasn't signed this guy.

I started watching BOLA because the main event of day 2 got 5* from Meltzer. Started with day 1. Second match is Jeff Cobb vs. Ricochet and I'm officially a Cobb mark. He's 34 now and hopefully in a year or two he's in the E for a couple of years. He's insane fun to watch. Has more obvious holes in his game than most but his offense more than makes up for it.

I was a TYB fan too but they're just rehashing the same **** now and it's gotten old. They're doing exactly what the New Day are. They found a part of their act that's popular and are running it into the ground. Can't really blame them though since they're making bank.

Cage was signed to the WWE but he was no where near as good back then and they completely botched his booking. IIRC the last gimmick he had in developmental was some super hero gimmick similar to the Hurricane. They released him and he got super motivated to get better and became a beast. I first saw him when TNA used to bring him in for some one night only matches but would never sign him full time(despite him saying he would have signed straight away) which is just another lol TNA moment.

I only found out about Cobb after seeing him on LU. I watched some vids on him and became a mark too. I know what you mean about his holes but he also wasn't trained by a major school. If the WWE got him I don't think it would take them long to get him ready.

I made it through the first 4 or 5 matches on Day 1 and quit because the pacing is just too insane. If I can't have suspension of disbelief then I don't care to watch.

I did watch the 5* match. Ospreay/Sydel(Evan Bourne)/Ricochet vs. Young Bucks/Adam Cole. It was a pretty great match. Had some stupid comedy in the beginning but then all hell broke loose. The huge difference between this YB match and the other that I commented on is that the comedy stopped a few minutes in and then things got serious and entertaining. There were 26 superkicks in the match as the commentary counted throughout. The last 60 seconds of this match are insane and had people in the audience jumping up and down before it was even over. I'm going to make the last 60 seconds a gif later tonight/very early Friday morning. After the match the entire crowd chanted "five star match" at Dave. I'm going to watch it again before giving any kind of rating but I definitely don't think it was 5*.

Everybody and their mother should watch this match if only for the ending atmosphere alone. Side note: I asked LKJ for a link to his gif builder thingy almost a year ago to the day and this is the first time I've ever used it . I'm not going to post the gif here because the size is huge but here's the last 45 seconds of the match. Link

This is what I use - http://screentogif.codeplex.com/

It's great because you have a bunch of options. I use it all the time to capture gameplay to post on twitter.

Went to RPW/NJPW Global Wars in Bethnel Green, London last night. Great show. Match of the night for me had to be Chris Hero (formerly Kassius Ohno) vs Ishii, but the rest of the card was great too, including Will Ospreay v Bushi & ZSJ vs Shibata.

So I've been hearing rumors that NJPW wants to do some shows in the US for the first few days of the G1 Climax tourney and they are thinking of doing those in Long Beach, CA.

I hope that's true and I hope I get to go to one, especially since I live about 30 minutes away from Long Beach. I, in my 18 years of being on-and-off as a wrestling fan, actually have never been to a live wrestling show and I would love to make this one to be my first since, well, to me, the G1 Climax is currently the greatest tournament in professional wrestling today.

I'll be watching since I have NJPW World. I think I've watched about 5 matches in the past 3 months on there but WK 11 gets a watch. The card looks very meh. The two main events could be great. Cole vs. O'Reilly will suck at the Dome, guaranteed. Nobody cares about two gaijins fighting for a title that doesn't belong to NJPW.

^^ Yeah, no one will care about it like how no one really cared about Elgin/Lethal at the Dome, and the only thing getting reactions is Elgin's power moves (and Elgin was moving to signing with a NJPW contract anyway).

At least, O'Reilly is a familiar face with NJPW crowds, in the last few years, and has shown he is capable of a lot of things. I hear great things about his match against Shibata last October. Heck, I hear O'Reilly hasn't signed a contract with ROH yet and may move to signing a deal with NJPW as well. For NJPW audience, the only thing that people know about Cole is him shouting "BAY-BAY" and being buddies with The Young Bucks and Omega.

So yeah, I think they'll just have a fast 10-15 minute sprint. Get their stuff in and hope people care (odds are they won't). The fact that it is placed as what the 4th opening match way behind the key title matches says a lot about how NJPW thinks about the ROH championship and rightfully so.

Yeah not really that hyped for WK this year but still looking forward to the main events.

Speaking of Elgin, is he injured? Why doesn't he have a match.

He was injured back in October. Orbital bone injury off a kick from Naito I think. Had to get surgery. He was cleared to wrestle back in December, but by then, all the big names were already busy for Wrestle Kingdom and NJPW probably wants to make sure Elgin is at 100% or make his return mean a little more than having a throwaway match at WK with someone like....... Cody.

The card is definitely weaker than the past couple years but I'm still pretty excited about it. I expect there to be some suprisingly good undercard matches and the 2 mains should be extremely good. I'm sure we've all sat through way worse shows than WK11 is going to be.

So true. I sat through SummerSlam last year which I'm pretty sure was 18 hours of garbage.

Missed the first couple hours but I'm watching live now. Have a decent creek if people need it. Kevin Kelly still sucks, no idea why people like him.

I love how they have Kota wrestle a 5 min throwaway match under a mask to start the show and then do nothing else with him.

edit: Naito/Tana was awesome... time for the title. Don't think Omega has any chance of winning at all but cool to see him main.

edit 2: Omega's entrance!!

I love how quickly this thread went from "this show looks meh" to "that was the greatest match I've ever seen. Looks like I have to sign back up for NJP for this because it seems everyone thinks that was an all time great match.

Downloading the show atm. Probably won't watch until I'm done playing poker tonight. Maybe I'll watch on some breaks. I just couldn't make it last night. By the time it was 3am here in AZ (and i believe the show started at 5am my time) I'd been up 33/36 hours so it was time for sleep.

Pretty sad to actually have NJPW World but still downloading the show lol. Looking forward to it!

Watched the Main Event without really knowing anything about the product. Incredible. I can't imagine how amazing that felt to fans totally invested in NJPW.
