Yeah I was going to offer EMc a deal similar to teejayC's to try to get Hogan, but when I woke up they had already traded. The sick thing is the guy I would have picked with the 6th pick might still be there at the 15th pick.

great pick teejay, although i think Emc got a nice enough package to justify the move.
Curious who that undrafted is if its not Stone Cold. It surely isnt who i think you might mean but i cant work out who else it might be

It may look like a bit of a bold trade, especially considering it was my initial offer, but I didn't want to waste time negotiating and let someone else come in and make a quick trade with EMc. I decided to make what I thought was a fair offer as I feel the value of having Hogan is just so much higher than that of anyone else remaining. I imagine my drafting strategy is going to differ from most others so I don't think I'll really end up missing my fifth round pick that much.

i'll let you know when he's drafted.

i voted stone cold as #2 on moorobot's 100 greatest ever thread, but i think the aforementioned guys are just better picks for purposes of this draft. stone cold is not as valuable unless he's paired with a top heel and it's going to be hard to find that in round 2.

by comparison, i think a guy like flair can work much better with second-tier talent.

I really like Austin but the more I think about it the more I think he should have went third after Flair and Hogan with Hogan going first. Hogan is by far the easiest person to build a company around because you don't really need anyone else that's that over, Hogan can just bury everyone, hold the belt for a really long time, and draw a ton of money. As someone said earlier Austin was the best at constantly getting screwed over and chasing the belt, where Hogan just always had the title.

I was really hoping Hogan would fall one more pick. In my opinion he is the obvious number one, but I'm not going to argue that any further.

I'll go ahead and take the last mega-star remaining.

Spoiler:

The Rock is withoutashadowofadoubt the best remaining wrestler. There is not a single remaining wrestler that can bring the electricity like The Rock can. Every single pick from this point on will fall short of The Rock's greatness.

/bad rock promo

Obviously his gigantic drawback is that he has one of the shortest runs of any first round pick. However, it is impossible to pass up this kind of talent. If this was real life, the most important time to be prosperous would be the first few years, and with The Rock I get that in spades. It's also nice that I won't have any of the backstage headaches you get with basically everyone else in wrestling. The only bad thing is that by year six I won't have him anymore (except for a handful of random appearances).

I can't decide what I would have done with the Hogan/Flair decision if not for the fact that I had Hogan last time. I do think there are very good counter-arguments in this format for Flair, but the decision was also heavily influenced by the "damn, I don't want to run another Hogan company" factor for me. I do think that Hogan and Flair far outpace Austin and of course HBK in this format though.

I also don't mind ending up with Rocky because in the last three drafts I already had Flair, Hogan, and Austin. It will be interesting to try and build with the other megastar available.

Start Rock out as Nation of Domination Rock and not Rocky Maivia.

This is precisely what makes this the right pick. You can worry about losing him later, and can develop young guys a long way to that point. The fact that your company is already guaranteed to draw money right from day one cannot be underestimated.

I agree with this 100%. Hogan was my number one and Flair my number two, although I didn't have Austin too far behind them (and might have gone Austin over Flair).

I'm extremely curious about disko's pick too. He must have had someone in mind when he traded up, and he must have known Rocky was fairly likely to leave the board at 5.

Ah, damn. I figured the Rock would be the pick but I had to trade up just in case he slipped (in which case I never expect Dylan to trade out).

I agree that there are a few acceptable picks here, but I believe I'm going to get a surefire main-eventer than might not have been available to me at 15. Give me a few minutes and I'll have my pick up shortly.

Rock is the biggest draw left, great charisma, mic work was overrated though. Solid pick though.

But when we talk in terms of best, wresling is so subjective. This isn't a real sport, and I think we focus on what makes the most money as the grading scale of what's the best.

Now with my federation, I have two themes I want to go with, it just depends on which number one and two fall to me, both will be cult like feels with some top tier draws

No, but I had to move up in the off chance that the Rock fell.

I'm a bit curious about it, but after Hogan went I don't see anybody as being huge value right now.

Yeah, honestly the top five went the same as the top five of my draft board (albeit in a different order), and when I look at my #6, I would be going, "Oh ****. I can't pick THAT guy this high in the draft." As of The Rock getting picked, I think Dylan did quite well to trade out. I knew it was a stone cold lock for keed to take Rocky once Hogan got picked; keed drafts well and basically never melts faces.

I truly think there's like six guys with basically interchangeable value right here.

If i get who i want id have picked him over HBK, Hogan and Rock for sure and possibly even over Stone Cold depending how i wanted to play the rest of the draft.

Its kinda face melty, but then im the guy who thinks its insane to rate Rock over Stone Cold in this format so who knows.

I'd say that number is higher if you start going old school
