Was hoping Shinsuke would lose and move up so we get a Wrestlemania entrance.

Given that they just gave him a kayfabe injury, I certainly wouldn't expect him to be in the Rumble or anything.

Probably just as well to delay his call-up until after Mania, since there's already a logjam of deserving people in danger of not making the Mania card.

Also how hilarious is it that TNAids had the WWE, IWGP and NXT champions on their roster 5 years ago and their main event angle was Ric Flair vs Mick Foley

Grunching so I'm not influenced by the thread. Will check after.

Eric Young vs Tye Dillinger - **3/4 - was expecting more. Slow start, and didn't escalate enough. Pretty standard regular TV match.

Cien vs Roderick Strong - *** - better than the first match. But still below what I was expecting. Didn't help that the crowd kinda fell flat for a lot of this one. Wasn't bad, but nothing great.

Authors of Pain vs DIY - ***1/2. Better ring psychology than the first two bouts. Definitely one of the top 2 matches on the card. Good finish.

Asaka vs Nikki Cross vs Peyton Royce vs Billie Kay - **3/4 - Asaka and Nikki Cross clearly the cream of the crop here. Peyton and Billie did good enough as pests, but looking forward to Asaka vs Nikki Cross one on one. Kind of surprised they didn't get Asaka to drop the belt here and not be pinned. Guess they never have really cared about NXT wrestlers going out on a loss though.

Bobby Roode vs Shinsuke Nakaura - ***3/4 - I give this one the highest rating on the card, but it had the benefit of being the main event. Thought it was good, but not great.

All in all. I couldn't bring myself to give any even 4-star matches on the card. Not one of the better NXT PPVs. I definitely think the Rumble has a shot at being the better card of the two this weekend.

That was a damn good title match, but not as good as the Nak/Zayn match.

That JBL tweet is extra gross when you google the name. Ugh.

Will watch the main later but I keep forgetting Roddy is in NXT, he's so boring.

The fatal four way was a huge letdown for me. Really over the booking of Asuka that is like a Reigns/Lesnar hybrid where she overcomes the odds and never makes anyone else look good. It also felt like they missed big opportunities for the other competitors. One of Peyton/Billie pinning the other would have been great to get heel heat on them and Nikki didn't really get to do anything truly insane to establish her character. ATM it just feels like the entire division is there to make Asuka look good.

From what I've read online it seems a lot of people don't understand Bobby Roode's style which is too bad. His performance in this match was fantastic and really made the ending feel special.

That was the first time I've seen Almas and thought he looked really good. ETA: ive seen him before, meant this was the first time i didnt just think meh.

DIY is great, AOP are very good, and that match - while is was good - is a huge testament to how ****ing elite Revival are. It just wasn't close to the level a lot of their recent takeover matches were. They just understand storytelling so damn well. Can't wait for their debut and fight with Alpha. Might get Alpha the shot in the arm they need.

That was the Nak I know and love. The joe matches never really did it for me despite my appreciation and like of both of them. They just didn't quite click right for me together. This match was awesome. Great selling by Nak, awesome heel work especially at the end by Roode.

One final lol james storm for the night

I definitely agree it was not a great match, but I think the finish was better than Billy or Peyton going over. It looks like they'll eventually be putting Nikki Cross over Asuka somehow which is the better long play anyway. Nikki will have a lot more time to get her character over before she takes the belt and Asuka moves up to the show.

I liked the main event and like Roode a lot despite not really ever watching him in TNA or anything prior to NXT. He'll shoot up the main roster with his gimmick + ability once he's given the chance.

I think you're probably right. I just didn't like Asuka going over in a virtual handicap situation after taking multiple finisher-looking moves.

I don't think one of Peyton/Billie needed to actually win the match, but it was a big logic hole that they didn't try to pin each other at all, and it would have been a funny underhanded heel thing to do.

I'm watching, why is Tye Dillinger so over? That thing he wears to the ring is ridiculous and all he does is do jazz hands and say ten a lot.
