How is this move so many times and generally nobody gets hurt?

It wasn't a realistic move, but every time I saw Petey William's Canadian Destroyer, I marked out of sheer badassness.

The Steiner Screwdriver (a suplex/piledriver combo)
A good brainbuster suplex is pretty nasty.
The killswitch Christian does can be pretty brutal.
Kenta Kobashi's Burning Hammer.
Moonsaults done by monsters like Bam Bam Bigelow or Vader, if they land flush.

I'm sure there's many more.

Something like a rear naked choke (Tazz, Samoa Joe) actually can be lethal, but they don't cause the same kind of reaction.

For my money, the DDT is the best pro wrestling move ever invented.

Notable mention to the Randy Savage flying elbow drop because its legit one of the most painful finishers even when done right. There is a reason Punk's homage looks like garbage compared to it.

The most dangerous move that could easily kill you has to be the inverted death valley driver aka the burning hammer. There are cheap knock offs that arent as dangerous but the legit one is so ****ing deadly it has been performed exactly seven times.

Moves that look super legit and could kill despite being fairly safe are any kind of non-standard piledriver (package, double underhook, leg hook variants etc where there isnt direct support of the other guy) and some crazy throws from the top turnbuckle. I still wince thinking of Davey Richards doing a belly to back overhead throw of a much much bigger Elgin from the top turnbuckle in their 5 star match from last year. That **** was ****ing insane. Punks old Pepsi Plunge was ****ed up too, a full old school pedigree from the top turnbuckle - there were many a match when the other guy over rotated on the hop so landed it like a spike double underhook piledriver variant rather than a facebuster.

Even an inverted superplex can look deadly when done right. I remember one Punk and Morrison did on ECW which looked so legit I swore that Morrison just dumped him on his face.

I just watched this on youtube and don't see anything that makes it look more deadly than a regular piledriver (what could be worse than slamming a guy straight down on his head anyways?)

The piledriver makes it look like you are slamming a guy straight down on his head. The Burning Hammer literally has you slamming a guy straight down on his head. Its like an intentionally botched piledriver where the guy taking the move has to just use the strength of his neck muscles to stop himself being paralysed or killed.

the pedigree. but not just the normal one. triple h would do it on nails, tables, glass etc.

that cant be very healthy taking those straight to the face without anything breaking your fall, and a 250 pound man putting his entire body weight on it.

Doomsday Device has to rank up there. LOD/Road Warriors absolutely destroyed jobbers performing this move. There was probably a safer way to do this, like if Animal would have fallen back to the canvas but in most cases he pushed the legs the same time Hawk was landing the clothesline, making it that much more dangerous.
