I was going to make this about your dream matches but it seems to be better as a broader subject so please share anything related to matches. I'll just start with dream matches though. Some of mine:

Bryan vs Brock ( ) - Beast vs Best. This would be like Bryan vs Morishima which was amazing but be even better because Brock is a thousand times the wrestler Morishima is.
Bryan vs HBK - not a huge HBK fan but trainer vs the real BitW. this would be a huge spectacle and nothing < 5 million stars.
Vader in 92 vs Brock of 2014 - Could the earth take this match?
89 Flair vs 2003 Brock - Yeah, I'm a huge Brock and Bryan mark.
late 91/early 92 psycho Randy Savage vs 2000 Cactus Jack - Imagine the promos.
2014 Shield vs Arn, Tully, Flair
1992 Savage vs 2004 HBK
and the most obviously two:
2003 HBK vs 2003 Rock
98 Hogan vs 98 Austin

Part of me making this thread is that I enjoy the matches way more than anything else. I watch wrestling for wrestling and rarely care about promos. Of course they can enhance things but, for me, they're not needed.

My dream matches feature a lot of the same names.

Bryan vs Angle is a dream match. Angle signing and staying with TNA is one of the biggest disappointments in wrestling for me.

96/97 Hart vs Angle in a submission match. Heel Canadian against the American hero is money.

Henning vs Angle I don't think I need to say anything about this match.

Henning vs Bryan ^

Lesnar vs Stone Cold It's a shame we came close to this and never got it. At least we got a stunner on Lesnar.

Savage vs Stone Cold They could have done Crazy Savage vs The Rattlesnake on Raw every week for a year and I would love every minute of it.

97 Outsiders vs 97 DX I think this would have been pretty awesome.

Benoit vs Bryan The Crippler Crossface vs The Crippler Yeslock.

Thoughts on your matches:

Bryan vs Brock . It would have been great for the reasons you mentioned and so much more. Heyman saying the things he said about Reigns to Bryan might have actually had some weight.

Savage vs Foley could have been amazing promo wise.

98 Hogan vs 98 Austin would probably have been the biggest match of all time. If the invasion angle was done right and at the peak of the monday night wars, would any match be bigger than this?

2003 HBK vs 2003 Rock isn't a match I've thought about but now that you've brought it up, it would have been epic. I know most of HBK's best moments came in his second run but I still feel like he was booked pretty weak during it.

HBK vs Bryan Teacher vs student would have been so good. Only a couple years too late as well

Brock vs Vader would have been insane. I don't know if the match would have been that great but man the tension leading up to it would have been crazy.

The match I'm sure everyone wants to see has to be....

Instead of the Horsemen, I would go Shield vs Freebirds

Peak HHH vs peak Flair

Brock vs 80's Hogan or even mid-90's Big Show might be fun

Savage vs CM Punk would be an awesome feud

Austin vs Rock probably is the dream match that we all got to see cause they peaked in the same era but never appreciated so Austin vs Goldberg, but I really can't think of a match for Rock that he hasn't had.

Sting vs Taker in '97

Definitely appreciative that we got this match many times. This would be the Hogan vs Austin match had it never happened. It delivered big time. I'm a huge fan of pretty much all of their matches except WM 19. WM 15, BL 99, WM 17, cage match on RAW after 17 are all spectacular.

I have more than this that I just haven't written down and some others I want to rewatch before I call them 5*. I know not many on this forum are huge into star ratings but if you want to watch some excellent wrestling, this list is perfect.

Not really much pre-2001. The 2 I'd throw in there off the top of my are HHH/Austin in that 3 stages match I forget when and HBK/HHH in their return match. Ok, one more, Taker/Foley Hell in a Cell.

Bret/Owen WM X getting no love on that list either

HHH/Austin is a match I had on it, took it off pending a rewatch. Taker/Manikind in a cell is definitely not there. Owen/Bret is the same as HHH/Austin. I watched it last fall and just didn't rate it, definitely superb stuff.

edit: HHH vs HBK i assume is their SS 02 match? not a chance. I think the first EC match where HHH/HBK are the last two is closer than the SummerSlam match. SummerSlam match is great, no doubt, but not even close to what I'd consider a classic.

Another match pending a rewatch is Benoit vs Austin from SD! 5/31/01. I've watched it 5+ times but never really rated and in truth, I may prefer the 5/28/01 RAW match.

Russo vs Cornette in a shoot fight with stipulations such as if Russo wins Cornette has to record himself watching nothing but Russo angles during a 24 hour marathon.

I would love to see Bryan face Styles or Ibushi or Brock at this very moment.

Not really a dream match scenario, but was just wondering if Austin were 10 years later, does he fall by the wayside in the Cena era as the internet darling?

What if Cena had Rock's timeline, debuting in '96 and getting booed out of the building before coming back as the Dr of Thuganomics? What happens to his character in the Attitude Era? Is there one?

If CM Punk is around in '96 instead of Austin, would he have been the monster star of the Attitude Era or would he still somehow have self destructed?
