Jesus that's so sad on many levels.

She did a fair bit of decent work in the attitude era.

RIP

I was pretty shocked to see she'd died although I guess I shouldn't be lots of these folks are living short lives.

Tmz says it was an overdose

And ya, WWE posthumously putting her in the HOF is gonna be so reprehensible (to add to the already terrible behavior relative to her) ESPECIALLY when h is gonna be the one inducting her

And steph being the first and only one to offer condolences so far is so bad on so many levels

As chief brand officer, isn't Steph the defacto spokesperson of WWE?

Thanks for the memories? I admit to having a Benoit level of uncomfortableness watching some of the Attitude Era stuff; maybe that will pass over time.

I mean even still, it's a pretty tonedeaf thing to do when every article about her death implies steph is the reason she left the company

I guess h isn't a better option but I mean cmon

So who should have said something? If it's Steph's job then she should have done it. And I still don't think she gets in the HoF any time soon

Dusty Rhodes and John Wayne died on the same day.

Two members of DX have died, both on 4/20 (Rick Rude was the first).

Saddest part is how unsurprised I am to hear this. So many wrestlers die in their 40s and 50s that I'm almost expecting one every 4 months or so.

True, but then everyone would have ripped Steph and HHH for not saying anything

Well posted comment from the uproxx chyna thread

Just want to say that before idolizing someone in death we need to also remember the bad with the good. Before her death Chyna was nothing more than a a joke to a lot of the IWC and now that she died she is being made into a saint who suffered at the hands of WWE, Triple H, and Stephanie.

She was a woman with a lot of problems and attacked various people including falsely accusing Triple H of being a abusive pedophile. Many people have tried to help her be it X-Pac or WWE’s rehab programs. She was a human being and that includes all the bad luggage that comes with it.

I’m not exactly the best at expressing things but I’ll just flat out say this isn’t an attack on her but just a reminder that dying doesn’t automatically erase your past.

Yeah, I had similar thoughts really. I think it's a sad thing that she succumbed to her demons and died young, and it certainly would have been nice if she had gotten permanently clean and eventually reconciled with WWE, but I do think some of the reality is getting whitewashed a bit now. In the direct aftermath of someone's death I don't mind the tradition of people funneling their reaction through a positivity filter for a week or so, focusing on her positives over her negatives, but it doesn't really need to extend to distorting her public feuds into being one-sided situations where she was always a blameless victim.

I don't think everyone is absolving her and they shouldn't, just like famous people dying shouldn't be any more important than anyone else's tragedy, but it's still incredibly sad.

But as long as we're recounting her sins, I guess we can add another mindblowing one

Well that's incredibly weird. Then again, Hogan could tell me what he had for dinner and I would assign it at least a 30% chance of being a lie.

EDIT: Anyway, I really didn't mean to join in on slagging her or anything. I just think that, with regard to the blame game in terms of what happened between her and certain people in WWE, the blame seemed mixed a few days ago and her passing doesn't change that. That of course doesn't change that it's ****ty that she's dead now.

From what I've seen from WF is like 95% just being respectful. Nobody wanted her to die even if we know and knew she was a wreck. I hope she's at peace with whatevers out there.
