What are we going to mark out for? Hardy's and Angle?

I am not expecting much and will probably be pulling at straws to be excited about something like the biggest and most expensive stage ever and just in for the spectacle that is wrestlemania.

I was thinking about this earlier. The only thing I could come up with is if Reigns turns heel.

A Reigns heel turn seems even less likely than something like a CM Punk return.

Anyway, low expectations are a good thing and I have to figure that they can at least manufacture a better show than last year's atrocity, New Day notwithstanding. Haven't watched basically any of the build to this show, so hopefully the sweet sweet video packages can get me into things.

I think it depends if HHH loses or not.

If he wins nothing changes, if he loses I think theres a good chance Roman actually turns.

With Balor coming back and Rollins winning there are 0 credible heels to main event vs Roman going forward, but there are multiple guys who can step in to challenge him if he does turn.

I don't think it would take much to make Joe a believable heel against Reigns, and they can always go back to his feud with Strowman. But yeah I agree, Raw is definitely lacking main event heels.

Joe can be awesome. They need to get him away from the authority aidz though.

The best thing they could do is ban everyone that wrestled pre-2000 from ever performing again.

I dunno, I looked at the OP for the WM32 thread and it's pretty depressing how little has changed. Still the same PART-TIME WRESTLERS in four of the top 5 matches.

I don't agree with this sentiment at all. I get what you are saying, but out of those four PT guys, only Shane would not deserve to be in a top match even if they had 15 guys who were way over. Both Lesnar and HHH are still "drawing money" to the level that they can justify their spots. Taker, I don't care how much anyone says should retire and shouldn't be on the show, is going to command a top stop, and he probably still deserves it.

As for Shane, well I'm sure we can all agree that he needs to just stick with being commissioner, but Vince and Co. believe that a match with him is a gift to AJ so that is what it is.

I also have low expectations for the show as a whole, but think that some of the matches will be very good. And hopefully that will propel the show into the good range

You can laugh all you want, but that won't change the fact that it's true. No matter how many mega stars they could have this year, Taker, Lesnar, and HHH would all be in top matches.

Now will say that you could have a case for HHH to step aside, but Taker and Lesnar will be on or right at the top regardless.

As a fan, I couldn't care less who's drawing money. I want to see the most entertaining card possible and seeing all of these part timers is not doing that. I want to see a full time wrestler propelled to stardom. Roman's failed and will never be accepted. It's time to search for someone else. Put the part timers that can't go anymore (Goldberg, Shane, Taker) out to pasture. Brock and HHH can still entertain imo. Bring the full time wrestlers to the foreground and give them their time to shine, to make themselves when the most eyes are on the product.

Just because it's true doesn't make it any less laughable. It points to how uninterested the company really is in making new stars when the same guys that were on top 15 or 20 years ago are still on top now. What happened to the Vince McMahon that pushed Randy Savage out of the company in 1994 when he still had at least 5 good years left in him?

The Rock happened. Vince learned that if someone got big enough then they could leave and all of that time he spent building someone wouldn't get the return he was hoping for. Since then it's been more about the brand than the characters in it.

This doesn't seem like it tracks with the post-Rock rise of John Cena, nor the more recent strategy of building the entire product around creating the next big thing in Roman Reigns. He still carves out significant exceptions to his horrible 50/50 booking model.

I think the answer is as simple as being shortsighted and risk adverse.

I've thrown WM 28 on in the background.

I'm happy to report that Eve Torres's entrance music is part of this show.

I guess what my point is in the big picture is that I can't wrap my head around the concept of sitting down and investing 4-7 hours into a show that I am going into with a bad attitude. Having low expectations is one thing, but being predisposed to crapping on it before it even starts just makes no sense to me.

I'll admit that I have low expectations for the show as a whole, but I'm not going to go in negative to a show I'm going to turn on at 4 PM and that won't be over until 10:30 or so.

To the rest, I agree with your point, though I find that most people around here are more than willing to change their tune on a dime when a show performs unexpectedly well.
