Wow, can't believe there's no mention of Jeff Hardy itt yet.

Can't believe he slipped my mind when I made my list. One of the most entertaining wrestlers of his time while in the WWF/E. Dude really just didn't give a ****.

1. Bret Hart
2. Steve Austin

(Huge dropoff.)

3-5. Kurt Angle, Randy Savage and Shawn Michaels in some order I can't decide.

(Very small dropoff.)

6. Ric Flair

That's just an overall personal favorites list. If I was ranking on promos only, then Rock would be No. 1 and Flair No. 2. But I was never really a huge Rock fan, didn't bring it in the ring quite as well as the others, and I always was more into the ring work/match storytelling aspect of the business.

I've never really watched Wrestling on a constant basis until a year or 2 ago, so I missed a lot of the great stuff. It was also tough to get coverage in Switzerland before the internet. With that being said, I've always been rooting for Jericho, no matter who he was against, so I guess that makes him my favorite.

2nd would be Bret Hart, because I was rooting for him when I was a kid. Still like him, but Jericho is a lot more fun to watch, especially outside the ring.

1) Bret Hart (just can't seem to put anyone above him, even though he bored me late in his career/whenever he shows up now)

2) Mr. Perfect

3) I had to think to long, so there must be a huge drop off. I miss ECW and even WCW though, I just think the actual wrestling was just so much better on those shows.

1. Keiji Mutoh / The Great Muta

Just watching him in the ring and you can't help but think that he really is "the perfect wrestler;" power, speed, traditional wrestling, martial arts, innovative moves, the theatrics, etc.

2. Curt Hennig / Mr. Perfect

I guess it's easy to say that Curt Hennig played the perfect heel, but he did for a long time. How in the world WWF let him go without a serious Main Event push is a mystery to me. During his peak years he was amongst the best in the ring.

3. Greg "the Hammer" Valentine

I always really liked watching Valentine's matches. He just seemed to operate with a goal in mind, instead of just stringing a bunch of moves together with no real correlation. I know that he is a Hall of Famer and held a bunch of titles in his career, but I still never think he got the recognition he deserved.

Honorable Mentions: Masahiro Chono, Kensuke Sasaki, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Ted DiBiase, Scott Norton

He was going to win the Royal Rumble win year, but Hogan did his usual bull**** and made a power play for himself to win it again instead. Perfect had to settle for being the runner-up.

I think Hennig still would have eventually made it up to the top if not for the back issues derailing him for significant parts of what would have been his prime.

Only issue I have with Hardy is that most of his fan-base / appeal is due to the bumps that he was willing to take. He wasn't good on the mic and his character lacked any real development. Props to him for putting his body on the line for his fans / company, but his lack of being a well-rounded promoter hurts him in this category imo.

It's hard to compare wrestlers of this era to those from the golden era because the big thing that lacks is actual wrestling skill. Guys now hardly ever get in the ring, they do more talking than wrestling. I feel bad for those that didn't get a chance to grow up watching the first Wrestlemania, Saturday Morning Superstars, or Tuesday Night Titans. Nothing like that era of wrestling.

This category is favorite wrestler. When I was watching wrestling religiously all I cared about was crazy awesome **** that made me go WOOOOOOOW.

Hardy crushes that category.

His spots were always sloppy. I love a good spot filled match, and I never was a fan of jeff hardy. All his bumps were just him falling off ladders.

Most of you will be too young to remember him in his day, but its gotta be mr perfect.
Even when he lost, it was for a reason. That guy was the "perfect" wrestler.

Pre Black Saturday, Ron Garvin was my favorite wrestler growing up. I remember his feud with Jake Roberts and what great blood baths they used to have when they came to my town...

After Black Saturday it was Flair...

I agree

Valentine was an awesome heel in an era where WWF didnt give heels championships, so he was stuck with intercontinental titles and stuff like that. but he was awesome

Bret really had nothing bad to say about Goldberg when that topic came up in his book, for whatever that's worth. And he wasn't exactly pulling punches in that book.
