Well, if you put it that way, no. But then, there could be a scenario where some MMA fans could be stroking their fandom of the sport proclaiming that their form of sport is the best and most entertaining, which I just don't see it that way.

Ok that's fine, but two things:

A) They at going to think that regardless of the outcome.

B) Why would you even care about that?

they have to legitimize bork for the new star beating him to matter. you can't build him as a star and bury bork as a wrestling sideshow at the same time

plus doing the latter makes the ufc look bad since bork was the heavyweight champion once upon a time

i think bork winning helps the wwe since it further builds his character, could get ufc eyes to watch the product etc, but bork losing definitely doesn't hurt it. it's not like wwe fans will be like "well bork lost to ______ how could he possibly beat SETH ROLLINS IN A SINGAPORE CANE ON A POLE MATCH?!"

+1 to it being hilarious that bork is fighting before punk

I completely agree that Brock winning is very good for WWE, but it has no bearing on how they look to outsiders.

But I do think that WWE could use a Brock win to relaunch him as the badass he was before his last couple matches. I however do not see him going up against Reigns any time in the future

Just imagine the crowd reaction Brock gets if he wins then appears on Raw two days later.

Might sound silly but i think it takes away from the "unbeatable force" gimmick he has going right now. Everyone knows it's fake and all but it seems to me that the rub associated with pinning Brock in the middle of the ring would be slightly tarnished

Yep, this should be an entertaining fight though.

Bork is gonna get his head taken clear off and may not be medically cleared for SS when that happens.

What does Vince do if he gets his ass kicked? He can't come back and run through the roster then. Having him lay down for Roman might be the right thing to do in that situation.

Was just wondering the same thing. The issue is Brock has shown he is willing to stand up for himself, so if he doesn't like how Vince tries to book him, things could get interesting.

It didn't hurt the WWE the last time Brock got his ass kicked in the UFC. I don't see why it will be any different this time.

It isn't about whether or not he wins or loses. That won't alter how he is booked one way or the other. What Vince and the WWE get out of this is s happy Brock Lesnar. How is that a bad thing?

I read that WWE wants Paige Van Zant for Summerslam. Maybe want Rousey for WM as well.

I don't understand how there is no risk for WWE? What if Brock gets hurt and can't be at SS?

Of course there's risk and that will suck for them, but oh well they find out six weeks before Summer Slam that that's the case and considering their normal story arc these days is about 17 seconds, they'll be fine. And financially I'm sure they have insurance of some kind.

To be fair Bork is so much more likely to get injured in a wwe match than a ufc fight

I agree that there is a risk of injury, but weigh that against the benefits WWE get from having Brock at UFC 200, and it isn't even close. Just the chance to rejuvenate Brock's character on WWE TV is well worth it.

I don't see the benefit. Are there really people watching UFC that don't know what WWE is?

If he gets destroyed, that's the washed up has been that they're still booking like a monster, beating up all those wrestlers. He gets his ass kicked in a real fight now.

If he wins, he was already booked as a beast.

I feel like there's a real downside, not if he loses a competitive fight, but the other guy wipes the mat with him.

The only way they could work with that is have Kevin Owens come out and trash talk him and you make Brock the sympathetic figure trying to redeem himself. But I don't think Vince can have him just come back and continue to destroy the roster if he looks bad in this fight.

EDIT: In other words, I feel like Brock's stock can only go down here.

What does "wipe the mat with him" even mean in the realm of MMA. It isn't like he is going to ground and pound him for three rounds. If Hunt wins its most likely going to be from a stand up position.

And have you been paying attention to Lesnar on TV his past few appearances? He hasn't exactly set the world on fire. Both he and Heyman pretty much mailed in the Mania match against Ambrose. He doesn't even pop a rating when he is advertised in advance on RAW. He needs a jolt to get going again, and win or lose this will give it to him.

Perhaps Brock didn't put much into the Mania match because his mind and training were focused on preparing for his return to shoot fighting.

Wipe the cage with him?

I thought he was fine the lead up to Mania with what they gave him. I don't understand how anything he does here makes him better in the WWE.

That may or may not be the case, but we will never know that. I will ask this. If he was mailing it in because of UFC and not because of staleness, then why did Heyman do the same? I doubt he has anything to do with the UFC.

I just personally don't understand the logic behind thinking that him losing at UFC damages his WWE character. That just doesn't compute in kayfabe or real world. This is a 38 year old man that has been out of MMA for almost 5 years going up against a top 10 heavyweight.
