word is brock had a 1x ufc fight clause in his contract with wwe and so this isn't some collab or anything. vince was powerless.

I'm shocked by this.

Chael claims that Dana has always had some kind of control over Brock. I find it hard to believe anything that comes out of Chael but I also can't believe Vince would let this happen without some sort of funky deal. Would love to know the real details.

On Twitter last night Meltzer announced that Brock was still under his WWE contract, but Vince and co. approved the fight.

So it'll be interesting to see A)who the opponent is, and B) what Vince is getting out of it.

Vince may have just saved some money on Brock's contract by letting Brock fight at UFC 200. Brock gets this huge paycheck that doesn't come out of Vince's pocket.

How much does Hunt KOing Bork hurt his drawing power/image in the WWE? If Brock keeps that fight standing like he's been dumb enough to do in the past then he's getting KO'd.

It seems pretty good for WWE unless Lesnar gets his ass kicked. Lots of mainstream exposure and it can further Brock's character even more. It also seems like it's in their best interest to promote a working relationship with UFC. I'm curious to see if there's anything else to this and how much they work it on WWE TV.

it's bad for wrestling if brock loses so UFC getting all the gains here (esp since they're probably still trying to sell the company (wish dana would go away). The older big names are what sells the casuals in MMA and bork is one of the biggest.

It's amusing that bork gets a UFC fight before Punk.

UFC will want to build a new star through Brock. Trashing how fake WWE is over and over and having Brock make a pit stop and crush someone would look really bad for UFC.

Well, if Brock loses, it makes WWE and pro-wrestling, by default, look bad and reinforces the whole "it's fake" stuff (we know it's "scripted" and "pre-determined" and all, but hearing it too many times is too fatiguing for me at this point). That's sort of stuff that really started to send New Japan Pro Wrestling on a huge down period in the mid-2000s.

Something is going to look bad in the end. Pro-wrestling or UFC and I rather see UFC look bad, because, honestly, out of the two, I still like pro-wrestling even if I deemed WWE dead to me atm.
