I've lurked this forum for a while now, and haven't seen a collection of people's 5* matches. I've totally marked out lately and wanted to get back into some wrestling (was an avid watcher from 1992-2003.) Was a total HBK fan, but if I was asked my favorite match it would be HIAC with 'Taker and Mankind.

I also liked Bret and Owen Hart, Benoit, Malenko type matches; as well as the spot filled ECW matches, so it's hard for me to nail down 5* matches because of my wide 'tastes.'

What are matches I have to see?

Recent stuff? Probably gonna wanna watch NJPW. Okada vs Tanahashi from last October you should def watch. This year I've been so busy I'm behind on stuff but Ishii vs Naito from new beginning in February of this year was beyond jizzworthy.

If not recent then....

Misawa Kawada 6-3-94 still to this day I watch at least 5times a year. Have seen the match at least 100 times and my kids will all see it that many times before they turn 12. It's a masterpiece.

Or joe vs punk in ROH at joe vs punk 2.

Absolute best match in history:
Kawada/Taue vs. Misawa/Kobashi on 6/9/95. Good luck finding anything topping that. I feel bad calling any other match five stars because nothing even remotely compares to this.

I also have very wide tastes so I have over 70 5* matches and still watching old ones to see if I can add more.

I actually watched that Ishii/Naito match from February two nights ago. Gave it a solid ****1/2. Then watched their April rematch (which is the more highly acclaimed match) but didn't like as much, ****.

I'm curious what your highest rated Eddie match from his WWE run is. I would rate his match with Angle 5* but I'm pretty biased towards both.

Since OP mentioned he likes him, Malenko's matches against Ultimo Dragon in late 96-early 97 are among his best. Benoit vs Malenko at Hog Wild 96 is also really good.

Probably vs. Brock @ NWO 2004. Bias from me there but if it wasn't that it would be vs. Rey on SD! on 6/23/05, then vs. JBL in the bloodbath at Judgment Day 04, and some Benoit match. Aside from the WM match, I don't think I've watched an Angle/Eddie match and that match wasn't that good...the ending was worthy of 5* though lol.
