It's that time of year again for everyone's favorite PPV! Regardless of how bad the product is, the Royal Rumble almost always delivers.

Card:

My predictions:
Undertaker
Cena
Owens
Charlotte
Neville
Team Becky
The Club
Sasha

Looks like a pretty solid card, and should be a fun show!

Oh no, I'm not falling for that again. The last time I fell out of watching WWE, for various reasons, and people say, "You should come back for the rumble since it always delivers." That was back in 2014 and it felt disappointing for reasons discussed to death. I really think that or the main event of WM 30 was really the last time I watched anything from the main roster.

I'm not coming out of watching WWE. They broke my desire to watch wrestling one too many times and I would like to keep that desire of wrestling I have going now.

But unlike the last few years, there's no one that should be the clear cut winner. There's a lot of different directions they can go. Obviously some are better options than others, but for the most part it's going to be pretty hard for me to be disappointed because there isn't a Daniel Bryan this year who should 100% win the RR. Plus Cena/AJ is almost guaranteed to be an amazing match.

Looks like a solid enough card. If I'm awake at 6 I'll find a creek.

Yeah, I can't remember the last time it delivered, but have higher hopes this year. Haven't read any sportsbook odds.

Was hoping to watch NXT before this started, but see the festivities (pre-show) starts at 5pm. Wonder how much I'll be missing if I skip it? Considering how unimportant they've made KO's title reign, I wouldn't be shocked if Universal Title is on the pre-show....(that is slight sarcasm).

TLF (JP) on McMahon ripping his quads: "Batista and Cena eliminate each other. Then it turns into bizarroworld." perfect summary.

Think I'm going to throw the 2003 Rumble on in lieu of pre-show or anything. I imagine I haven't seen the '03 Rumble, and have no idea what's on it, but randomly flashing back a decade sounds fun.

As far as predictions go, the two safest bets of the night feel like Charlotte and Team Alexa. I can't imagine they lose while trying to build up Mickie.

Well, there's a ***** Angle/Benoit match on it. Surely better than anything on the pre-show.

Today looks like a nice day to go canoeing. Need to find a creek nearby, any thoughts?

Oh yeah, I think I've seen that Angle/Benoit match just one time and remember having the opinion of "not seeing the big deal with this one," but perhaps this viewing will go better.

Funny to see that I rewind a decade and it kicks right off with Lesnar/Heyman stuff.

It's odd that every promo about winning the Rumble features the guy vowing to throw 29 guys out. I'm quite sure that will never happen.

I think I will join you. I'm currently watching First Blood, and once that's over I'll fire this up

Remember when guys with actual conviction and charisma did promos right before the match to get people hyped? I member.

Or that the go home shows for either that or a ladder match feature some sort of segment that has competitors either throwing people over the top rope or climbing a ladder for no reason other than to other than to enforce that they actually do understand the concept of their upcoming match.

I watched the 03 rumble earlier funnily enough, just the rumble itself though. Was a fun watch, don't think I'd seen it before either.

The final 1/3 of that Benoit-Angle match is ****ing tremendous, but the first 2/3 is pretty sleepy and not that great. The final act is enough to bring it up over four stars, but it would never occur to me to give it much consideration for five stars. Something like ****1/4 IMO.
