And also was Sasha supposed to take that bump or was she going to move?
Judging by the reasoning Ric gave, Charlotte would land on Sasha. It stands to reason that she was as nonchalant as "Sasha will break my fall and I won't land on the floor/table/monitors/whatever".

Oh so Charlotte would just have smashed ribs and probably no spleen, and Sasha would be dead. I can't believe they didn't let them do that

The finish of the match was initially scripted to have Sasha Banks going through the table before taking the Natural Selection finishing move from Charlotte. After two attempts at breaking the table, the girls decided to just go with the finishing move, which felt a bit awkward and forced. A brutal match ending with just a simple move is usually not the plan.

Most of the people backstage in WWE understood why the table did not break. Sasha Banks simply does not weigh nearly as much as the male performers in the company. There have been instances where the table does not break for the guys, so it is totally understandable that the divas might not always be able to crash through the table.

Vince McMahon is a bit different than most people backstage. The CEO of WWE demands perfection, especially from the final segment of all of his shows. That is the reason why he is constantly tinkering with the script, sometimes even right before the segment happens.

That last bit is confusing. It's basically saying nothing. It doesn't say he's upset or reports of it. Just that he's a perfectionist which is to be expected of anyone in his position...

The article itself is a bit more clear that Vince blames Sasha for essentially not being heavy enough to break the table.

I don't see that anywhere in the article.

From Dave and the WON:
Quote:
Apparently the Banks vs. Charlotte finish not getting over was blamed by Vince not on that the wrong person won, but that the finish was messed up, which was blamed on Banks, as opposed to Charlotte, at least according to one person in the creative mix when asked about Vince’s reaction to the match. Banks was supposed to go through the table and get pinned with natural selection, and Charlotte tried twice and Banks didn’t go through the table either time. I didn’t see that was Banks’ fault and it was more the table not breaking which wasn’t anyone’s fault other than Banks didn’t weigh enough to break the table like a 200 pound guy would taking the same bump. There were people sympathetic to Banks, noting she’d have risked super heat if she kicked out as an impromptu if the table didn’t break, plus there’s the question of how the two of them would have covered for it instinctively going from there. One person noted that the ref should have told Charlotte to at least use the tights or directed them in some way. There was also the feeling Charlotte should have been more celebratory that she won the title. But Vince was 100 percent behind the changing of the finish to Charlotte winning the match and regaining the title and there’s been no regret after the fact that anyone could see. But that makes his decision at the end to also put them on last even weirder, because if that match was on in the middle, at least people wouldn’t have gone home with Banks losing as the last thing they’d see
It still sounds dubious at best that Vince actually blames Sasha for anything.
