It would be like having FTP come back, but with all the added fish that farmville-esque games bring in on Facebook. The worlds biggest barrel, filled with fish!

Re: Gossip: Zynga in talks with Wynn Resorts about online gaming partnership
SO I gave the Zynga software ago, it was god awful. I am not talking the play (its free poker ldo) but the software was crap. The raise was a bar ( can't just put in your raise amount) there was no wait for bb (just autoposted) I was in the sb 2x in a row, and during a sit n go if I was first thru third to act preflop my hand was folded even though I still had like 5 secs to act (they barely give you 8). It was probably the worst software I have ever seen. I have a feeling after the poker boom again in America the software is gonna be like 2003 paradise poker

hmm yeah, even though zynga stands to make orders of magnitude more money from real money poker, they probably wouldn't want to invest any additional resources into development. nope, they'd probably just leave the software exactly as is -- good point.

BS, they are clueless and the difference between existing software for online poker and the zynga software is ridiculous. They will be lacking in security, payment processing, player verification , age verification, player promotions, player loyalty and loyalty programs all areas that took online poker years to grow

I mean, really, are you that dense? With the money they have (and could easily get more given their company valuation and if they had a casino partnership) they could have at least a solid 2nd tier organization, or a bottom of the 1st tier setup, running in under a year with real money games. I've heard there's a bunch of FTP employees looking for work.
Or, maybe it'd be your way, and they'd just go with what they have and leave it as is because, hey, the fat soccer moms like it so it must be good.

You have way too much faith in company's who are brand new to a field.

Their software as it is would not stand up to the rigorous regulations and testing required for Nevada Gaming Commission licensing. There is no question that they would need to step up development of a better gaming client in order to get licensed for real-money i-poker.

Re: Gossip: Zynga in talks with Wynn Resorts about online gaming partnership
You gotta remember that there is a world's difference between the kind of software that is ideal for play money facebook players and real money poker enthusiasts.
Sure, play money guys would enjoy PS/FTP style software more so, but the advantages versus costs of implementing that on the play money format were probably not nearly as favorable as they will be under a real money format.
Zynga has a lot of money and it sounds like they've been hiring some smart people. If they partner up with someone I would imagine them to likely be a force in the industry relatively soon (assuming equal playing field for US sites).

The recent software debacles should highlight the reasons why you need someone who knows what they are doing.
I don't think zynga is the company you want developing the software. If you can't have the guys from stars or tilt then you want a company who has experience in a similar space(doesn't need to be gaming) who is willing to work with analysts who are/were high volume poker players.
Look at the number of problems on merge right now. The vast majority of them are there because the people developing the software didn't understand what features were needed by the players.
