Ultimately I think most if not all poker networks will work on their software to provide their own version of speed poker, if the investment pays off is another story but the vast majority of the traffic will be on the micro limits anyways (NL5-100). A couple hundred players in the pool already mean a by far higher volume and traffic, the timing with the recent news about the upcoming iPoker 2 and its restrictions is also quite interesting for the smaller skins. You can simply target more recreational players to play a bit in speed poker, where you generate more rake in a short time and thus bump your numbers accordingly.

Re: iPoker announce launch of Speed Poker

Bad idea to let 1 "player" (on ipoker read bot) enter the same pool 10 times. It means any regs or bots that find an edge at a game will multi table, while the fish will be single tabling.

So you could start with 50% fish and 50% regs/bots which should be a nice winnable game then multitabling multiples the regs/bots X 5 with the same amount of fish, now its a very hard game to win at.

As far as I am aware speed poker will be available to all skins regardless of the upcoming Network split. The split itself will only be for cash game tables throughout the network, but I don't know yet if the limitations will also be the case for speed poker.

Re: iPoker announce launch of Speed Poker

how do you think the fact that there are tons upon tons of bots operating on ipoker affect speed poker?

= we want more rake, let's kill the games.

not sure how u think SP will run at games like 100FR or 50FR, even 100 6m given not all the players will go to SP so the player pool will be segregated or you'll just flat out lose players that don't like SP b/c there's no more traffic at the normal games.

Ipoker dont half shoot themselves in the foot on a regular basis.

When will they actually listen to what players are saying !

If they actually did something about the bots and improved their software then ( surprise surprise ) ... players would start to come back.

Seems Ipoker will try anything expect the things that players actually want.

I can't speak about the bot problem but it does seem that they are atleast now trying to improve the software, there has been more improvements in the last 3/4 months than the previous 3/4 years before then, admitally though it is still not up to scratch or as good as pokerstars.

Re: iPoker announce launch of Speed Poker

We've been told that it will be fully launched on Boyle within the next two weeks.

I got the impression that there might be a mini-release before the full release on Boyle too, but could have misinterpreted.

Whatever it is, it's going to be pretty soon!

Re: iPoker announce launch of Speed Poker

Anyone else getting major lag after playing for it awhile? I'm playing on Will Hill and after about 45-50min of 4 tabling, it starts to lag really bad. If I close will hill and restart it, it works fine again for another 45-50 min. Not sure what is causing it and very annoying to interrupt sessions like that.

I tried without HEM and got the same results.

Is there a way to get Holdem manager 2 HUD to update as fast as the new opponents come and go?

Now I wonder if that means the bots also don't have all my stats available to them...that could make a big difference to me...
