Post Microgaming to Remove Waitlists

The Microgaming network has plans to remove waitlists in their next software update in a bid to make the games more enjoyable and encourage players to start new tables: http://ipvip.co/p42oc

Re: Microgaming to Remove Waitlists

today they removed it and this is the biggest joke I ever saw at any poker software. I play 10 tables and removing this feature makes microgaming unplayable for me. This is an absolutely ridiculous step and their math that more tables will open (-->more rake) is plain idiotic. I guess a lot of players will even leave microgaming. And the statement "this will make games more enyoable"... LOL
This is really such a joke.

Ongame had really good experience with removing waiting lists. A lot of table starting, fish joining quickly.

Re: Microgaming to Remove Waitlists

I never understood why waitlists make games unenjoyable for fish. Can't they just sit at an empty seat, starting a new table if necessary?

Then again, I'm the kind of guy who, if waitlists are long and tables are reg-filled, I just start a new table.

I dunno. On the one hand, removing waitlists removes the ability to table select which I think is crappy. On the other, if removing waitlists really does make for a more enjoyable poker experience (though I'm baffled as to how), then good on you, microgaming.

I actually look at it the other way, if you just want to play a table with players, the waitlist is the fair way to stop it being a click first comp.

This is important when there aren't many games running and even sitting at a new table will result in lots of heads up play or no action at all.

Re: Microgaming to Remove Waitlists

Agree with TheRaiderr.

Other networks are suffering because of waitlists. It's suspected that some players even have programs so that they can be first to join a waitlist when a fish joins a table.

It does seem that no waitlists will at least make poker slightly more enjoyable.
