Anyone who googles poker will come across 2+2 forums.
People over 40 read 2+2?! People over 40 play poker?!?!
Seriously, why would this surprise you??

The next split is between B&M (or M&B) readers and LLSNL readers. For example, Lattimer is a B&M mod, but never posts in LLSNL. He plays at Foxwoods. There's at least 4-5 regulars in LLSNL that also play at Foxwoods at the 2/5 level. Beyond that, there are many lurkers who read the forum, but don't log in, let alone participate.
2+2ers don't identify themselves readily. That said, I regularly hear people say things like, "Just PM me" or discuss a thread on 2+2. Keep in mind that I look like OMC and the youngins have no idea that anyone my age is looking at 2+2, let alone modding a forum. Hazarding a guess, I'd say that less than 10% of 1/2 players view 2+2. At 2/5, I'd say it was more like 20% to 25%. Keep also in mind that while many regulars don't look at 2+2, they have friends that do and will let them know if they are being talked about.
I agree. What is the breakdown? And how are we defining "casino reg." and "2+2er"? How often does one have to play poker at a casino in order to qualify as a reg for the purposes of this question? How active does one have to be on 2+2?
However, Venice10, you post that "There's at least 4-5 regulars in LLSNL that also play at Foxwoods at the 2/5 level. Beyond that, there are many lurkers who read the forum, but don't log in, let alone participate."
And you post that "Hazarding a guess, I'd say that less than 10% of 1/2 players view 2+2. At 2/5, I'd say it was more like 20% to 25%."
Given the large amount of 2/5 that gets played at Foxwoods, I'm confused by these statements (for the record, I've never been there so know nothing about the place first hand). 4-5 regulars in LLSNL can't possibly be anything close to 20%-25% of the 2/5 players. Are there really that many lurkers? Could be, I have no way of knowing. I'm sure that you have access to such data. Just surprises me, that's all. Or maybe the 2+2ers are posting to forums other than LLSNL?
In my experience, most people who post on 2+2 don't talk about it at the tables (the old "don't tap on the aquarium" philosophy.) I have no idea what the actual percentage here is. Probably depends, in part at least, as to where one lives and how seriously, as opposed to just recreational fun, folk there take poker.
