Things you say after a hand to get info

Are there any questions or statements you guys ever use after a hand to get additional info from your opponent about their hand?

My example:
After folding to an opponent's bet I sometimes say "nice bluff", which, more than u would expect, prompts them to tell me their exact hand! Its like they get insulted by the implication that they are ever betting without the goods and have to prove me wrong. It's actually kinda hilarious how often this works. If you time it right, sometimes they'll even flip their hand over!!

Even if they don't give up the content of their hand, how they answer can also clue you in on what type of player they are. I'm sure they are not always totally honest, but it's usually not too difficult to pick out the complete BS responses.

This works with bad players to get direct answers. They love it when they can show the bluff. It is a good question because experienced players will give an evasive answer. Knowing that someone has some time at the tables is worthwhile.

Ask them what they would have done, if you had done "x" differently. They will usually tell you without hesitation.

Yeah this is another good one. You can get lots of info on how to size your bets against that opponent like "I woulda called/folded if you bet [x amount]" or "since you bet so small I knew you had it".

This makes the assumption they are being honest when they say this, i wouldn't take anything said at the table to be truth, you are better off learning the info thru observation

Not always true. You can hear somethings that polarize their intellect to them being an idiot savant or a just plain idiot. usually by their play you can tell which is true.

I hear "I put you on Jacks" from donkish Villains after they call a pre-flop raise and fold to a c-bet on the flop.

Re: Things you say after a hand to get info

Whenever anyone asks me something post hand to find out what I had I always say quads.
Whenever anyone asks me what I'd do if they did x instead of y, I tell them I'd fold pre-flop.

The regs don't bother asking anymore, and it usually is good for a laugh or two when someone new asks.

I think it is usually not too difficult to tell who is sincere in those spots. Most players in the micros (1/2 and 2/5) are less skilled as actors than they are as poker players.

At anything above 10/20 (not that I play those stakes, lol), if someone told me the sky was blue I'd look out the window to confirm.

It's not really an assumption when most donks at 2/5 and 1/2 are not putting much thought into a reply of the question and snap answer you.

i will say something like nice set or nice draw. you'd be surprised how many times i've gotten them to show cards when there "bluffing". i will never show my cards when i don't have to.

Re: Things you say after a hand to get info

I don't usually ask, but if i do... I just ask straight up.

Sometimes I'll get a straight up answer.

Other times I'll get a No Info policy.

Rarely I'll get some douchebag who says "I don't remember" or "call to find out" in a rude way, or trying to be a clever douchebag.

I end up playing better against these guys and winning, more often than not.

So be careful who you try to embarrass for asking.

If I'm asked... I usually just shrug without saying anything. Occasionally I'll tell people the truth, or lie.

I love the way people magically become better players when they think the villain is a douchebag.
