That's funny. When people call with J4o from the BB because "I was getting the correct pot odds" I immediately write them off as horrible.

After getting a premium hand cracked to hear the excuse of "it was suited".
Also donkey mid raises AA preflop and somehow manages to win huge pot.

Do you keep up the charade when you talk again after a while or just keep silent?

Yes ... I guess... But the other player has to have 33 or 32. A whopping 0.67% chance of chopping.

Not horrible. 4 players limp for $2, if I'm in the SB and call and the BB checks his option, that's 6 people in the pot for $12, minus the drop is $7 to the flop.
7:1, I can think of plenty of hands I don't want to play out of position against 5 other players. Thanks for playing your J 3 , though.

The drop of $5 is not coming out of $12, not where I play, Foxwoods. It's $1 for every $10, up to a max of $4. Above $40 pot, they take an extra $1 for the bad beat jackpot. No flop, no drop. So, in the example given, it's 11:1. Once the flop comes, it's down $1 due to the drop. But even that's not accurate, IMO. If you don't hit, you fold. If you hit, and raise the pot, e.g., and everyone folds then you win $10 for that $1 bet. That's the worst you can do, other than hitting and losing to better hand.
Would I play J3o? No. But I do think limping with some players in from the SB with range >50% makes sense sometimes. You just have to nail the flop, otherwise fold. The implied odds can be outstanding. I've folded hands from the SB which would have flopped two pair and turned boats. For $1?

The reverse implied odds are even more "outstanding"

Re: Things horrible players do
I'm not going to pretend I can figure out six-handed preflop odds for 1326 hands. If you can that's great. What I am saying is that its just a buck, and your odds can't be all that bad. Why try and differentiate hands you would or wouldn't play?
Withholding that dollar tells me something about your range, not just preflop and out of position, but in position as well. It also doesn't say much about your confidence in your ability. Your fold tells me you are dependent on the cards going your way. What about the texture of the flop and your ability to bluff based on that texture and your position? Wouldn't that make up for any odds you don't think you're getting when you toss in that dollar?

LOL. You're out of position. To the whole table. Also, look up "reverse implied odds."
This post is exactly why poker can be so profitable.

Ummm. I know you're out of position. 5 of the 6 players in the hand can argue they're out of position. You've never check raised from early position? You've never represented a 4 on a board of A44? Never mind. We got your dollar.
