If this rule exists, I've never seen it enforced. There's a 15/30 reg who regularly puts his card to the right of a giant wall. Part of me suspects he does it intentionally to get people to his left to act out of turn.

Re: Oaks Card Club: Emeryville's Friendliest!

lol, played here when i took a trip to SF.

very first hand i play of 1/2 i get kings in the BB, i didn't know about the max bet rule (or that any casino had it) and i sized my flop bet so i could jam the turn. i say "allin" for my last 140, get stopped, and get all flustered when the old dude who had straddled the pot snapcalled me (whats the point of straddling in spreadlimit anyway?). river bricked and i forgot to shove. i won the pot anyway woot.

later i bet $10 on the saints game of the O/U at halftime they were showing on TV with this ghetto black dude who was baked out of mind and donated like $500 to the table. i lost the bet but he smoked me up with a gigantic blunt of sick norcal weed during after he won so maybe it was +EV?

Re: Oaks Card Club: Emeryville's Friendliest!

Went to the doctor today, and we chatted about what I do for a living. He warned me, "Stay away from the women who gather at the Oaks; I've treated a number of STDs that were contracted that way."

I didn't argue with him, but the place has never struck me as being a particularly likely place for guys to connect with working women. (Stretches of San Pablo Avenue both in Oakland and Berkeley are streetwalker strolls, but I believe EPD keeps a lid on it in the Oaks' neighborhood.)

I hear you can trade up in front of Flints BBQ for ribs.
(not the best value, though, the ribs are pretty good)

Flints, alas, has been closed for some time.

I think another bbq joint opened up on san pablo probably three blocks south of where the old flints used to be. Unfortunately i would never recommend anyone go to that area no matter how go the ribs are. I will find out the name tomorrow for any brave souls.

I still like the old school everett & jones on university and san pablo in berkeley. Their hot bbq sauce is diabolically hot and it still comes on a paper plate with wheatbread in a plastic bag. Incredible brisket.

He meant from the cards and chips, obv.

There's an EPD? I guess there would almost have to be, but I don't remember ever seeing one.

I literally only see them circling the Oaks and harassing vagrants outside of black & white liquor. They leave everything south of the 580 to OPD.

Yeah, go towards the bridge and past it, you'll see some stuff. It's pretty close.

I used to ride my bike to a home game in that neighborhood. Good times.
